      Back in February of 2025 I called around to various plumbers in the area for quotes on replacing a water heater. One of them was Contreras Plumbing out of ************. Their website prominently states, Free estimates & Advice. When I gave them a call there was no mention of any sort of fee.They sent somebody out to my home to assess what the job would entail. He took a look at my leaking water heater and the area, and then said he had what he needed, would report back to the office, and they would in be touch with the estimate.A week went by and I had heard back from every plumber EXCEPT Contreras. As I had a leaking water heater I went ahead and proceeded with another plumber instead of waiting to get this last quote.I never did receive a quote, or any further communication from Contreras until May 3, 2025. I received a letter in the mail stating I owe them $150 for services rendered. In the envelope was also the estimate. This is the first time I received any communication with them, and the first time Id seen a quote. This letter claims they sent over an estimate on February 26, 2025. Again, I never received any kind of communication from them. It also states they did not issue a bill until April 2, 2025, yet payment is due by April 9, 2025. The envelope itself is date stamped stating they never even mailed it until May 1, 2025. Well past their payment due date.But again, their website states free estimates, and there was no mention of a fee when I called to schedule the estimate. When the man was out at my house he also never made any mention of a fee or any payment being needed.I attempted to contact them immediately, but it was outside of their office hours so I had to leave a message.They didnt even have my correct name on the paperwork. Further proof they never contacted me before this or they would have known my name.

      We previously serviced this client in 2018, and provided a quote for a different repair/modification at her request. This is a miscommunication and the invoice has been cleared from our system. The quote was emailed 2/26/2025 and records indicate that it along with the follow up sent 3/19/2025, were not opened by the Client.

      I am rejecting this response because: This is an incorrect statement. I was never provided an estimate. If an email was sent at all, you certainly did not send it to me. In fact I dont recall providing an email either time I called to request as estimate. Yet you claim you sent two emails and noticed they were unopened, and did not try to communicate through another method? By mail or phone? Except to months later mail a bill? And it does not change the fact that you are trying to charge for your free estimates. This is more than an over site.  This was deliberate. People need to be warned about your scam! I need written proof the bill has been cleared. Send a letter since that seems to be the only type of communication you can get right.
