Turner Eye Institute sent me an unexpected **** for $200. Not only was the **** sent many months after my last visit to their office (which was on 2/22/2021), but I had no forewarning that I would be receiving any such ****. After getting eye surgery on both eyes with Dr. *********************** (the right eye on 8/30/2019 and the left eye on 10/25/2019), I was instructed to return for a follow-up visit. I returned for the follow-up as instructed and was not charged. Each visit was very brief, less than five minutes with **************, who told me my eyes were fine. Then I was scheduled for another follow up visit. This went on for some time, until I suddenly received the unexplained **** in the mail. While his office explained the cost of each surgery very clearly beforehand and collected full payment upfront, the $200 **** came unexpectedly, as I was never even told that I would be charged for the follow-up visits. Last month, I received a voicemail from ****************** office telling me they sent me to the collectors. However, I received another **** for the same $200 shortly after. This doesn't make sense to me and I'm not sure if they're telling the truth. Having paid for everything that was explained to me, I do not agree that I should be sent an additional **** without any explanation so late in the process and be expected to pay it. At my last in-person appointment on 2/22/21, the office did not try to collect payment nor did they tell me there would be any charge for the follow-up visit. Their practice of doing this is unfair and misleading.
