I went to Clayton auto service for dead battery installation.the owner knows me because I was at his store for oil change once. He said sit down ,dont worry ,he will take care of it. After the installation he charged me $ 532 for battery and plus labor. I showed ****** search the battery was only $246 . He said he knows my brother he is rich ( owns a store ). I have nothing to do with my brother .This statement was nonsense. He started yelling and trying to defend himself when I showed the ****** search. Few days later my car was dead again. We found out the installation was not done right. There was no bolt that holds the loop around the metal so it was loose therefore battery was not working ,sparks was coming out . I had my car taken to *** dealer. They found out the hose coming off the battery is burned due to heat and sparks coming from the loose connection of the battery. This means I will have to change the hose because it is damaged ,melted. I want the charges paid by clayton auto service to *** for a new hose and refund for overcharged battery and labor. My car was showing alert for chassis stabilation .*** said because after the installation of battery the car was not programmed .( please see the *** bill with explanations ). I also want clayton auto repair pay for *** charges for computer set up $ 275. I want Clayton auto repair to pay hose replacement at *** dealer. I have a video of damage given to me by *** as well.Business Response

**************** **** REVIEW
I had a dead battery for my mini ****** over the weekend . I went to this shop which is close to me. owner of the shop said he will take care of me right away and he said " you are rich" ** made a false assumtion, because i have a mini ******. I didn't think of it much at the time.** asked me to sit and wait and keep saying don't worry. After the work was done he charged me $ 532 for the battery and $ 247 for labor. I ******d the battery it was only $ 246 and showed to him. ** started to yelling, talking loud ,trying to distract me. ** is very dishonest person and treats everyone differently based on their car model. I do not think the service was done properly ,my dashboard llight is not working.Owner is very disrespectful. ** talked loud a lot but he did not have any logical explanation for his charges. I would never go his shop again. ** is discriminative and rude. I report him to BBB. Hopefully i get some of my money.CLAYTON AUTO SERVICE **** RESPONSE
We price from Mitchell1 as like much of the industry. We do not make up prices based on what your wearing, your address or the vehicle you drive. 2nd ***** loves to joke with all our customers and *****% of them totally get him and joke back. The fact that he is loud seems a bit discriminatory on YOUR end, as that is just his language volume. It IS however unfortunate that you were offended by his humor and that could not be further from his intent. Moving on to the final part of your review. I looked up the battery that is needed and found the retail to be $507.00 we charged you $528.00. I think 100% of businesses would agree that making a few dollars is acceptable. The most important point I need to make is the book labor rate is 1.2 hours =$213.00 which you were not charged at all. We charged you $0.00 labor. We are offended that you have made this inflammatory false review as well as defamed us on BBB. Shame on you. We have been more than fair since you started bringing your VW (other vehicle) in 2019. Note: I think your final sentence says everything**************** BBB COMPLAINT

CLAYTON AUTO SERVICE BBB RESPONSE
I stand by my **** response and it is very frustrating to have to continue addressing this. AGAIN, we did NOT charge any labor. I have attached the actual final invoice that **************** paid. **r evidence from *** does not substantiate all her claims. She never called to address anything with our office. ***** has a loud and comical disposition and never has any hidden agenda or malice intent. This verbal and written attack is seriously malicious and inflammatory. The original labor was $213 (per Mitchell1 book price) ***** reduced for her to $124.00, then completely removed it to help her out (why would he want to help a rich person financially?) If you look at the **** review **************** wrote she stated we must have thought she was rich by her Mini ****** (not a high-end vehicle or has any weight in pricing). Now shes stating it was her brother being a store owner? She keeps insisting she paid laborshe is presenting one of the estimates NOT final invoice. We write estimates to get authorizationwe obviously showed her (and she presented in evidence) which sparked her to look it up on ****** at her own omission. Thats when he tried to reduce the cost to help. **r claim of just sitting there with no idea is false as well. We have no intention of giving her any monies further then the $213.00 she already received. On a side note,**************** opening statement she writes ***** knows me.. So that would mean she knows him too. ***** and his huge loud heart that is always giving discounts and helping customers! This is all a shake down to get monies not owed.Tell us why here...Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I trusted ***** and did not get estimate for the repair . I was very disappointed with h the bill. The major problem is the technician did not installed the battery correctly . I have a video showing that there was no bolt holding the metal which resulted causing ****** and my car was dead a couple days later . I have found out the bolt was missing which caused sparks and resulted melting the wiring . The adjacent hose to battery is need to be replaced . ***** did a poor job on having the battery replacement which resulted in car being dead a couple days later therefore I was stuck on the road again . I took my car to a mechanic they placed temporary bolt then I had to take my car to *** dealer to have it fixed which cost me $275 . I attached the bill and the explanation of **** Also , ***** company is not aware of that when a new battery installed the computer system had to be reprogrammed ) please see attached bill with explanation from *** dealer . Because of battery is not registered it resulted my car giving alert ******* stabilization . These problems all fixed by ***. So please refund me the cost of *** bill and I demand replacement of the hose that coming from battery due to sparks caused melting because of missing bolt . I do not appreciate the wording saying shame on you in the respond to my complaint , it is rather juvenile and unprofessional respond to a complaint . Not the mention The behavior of ***** a poor work is my main concern which caused me stress and agony .*****************************************

**************,
You are still stating falsehoods. You even submitted the estimate we gave you as YOUR evidence. I submitted the actual final invoice that you paid after we removed all the labor to help you out. I was being polite when I wrote Shame on you If anyone has been damaged from this ordeal it has been Clayton Auto Service as a business and ***** as a person! You have reached out on ************ Platforms with negative comments. You never gave us the option or heads up to your 2nd battery issue. We are a local small business that operates solely by word of mouth and have done so for 30 years. When we make a mistake,we own it and take care of it. The first-time hearing of any issues was your negative and inflammatory YELP review, and now YOU feel stressed and are in agony? The one consistency with all 3 of your statements is that you want money.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Your respond does not make sense . You are ignoring my explanations . I am talking about the damage you caused by installing the battery wrong . Because of battery was not installed right it caused sparks and car was dead , we found out the bolt that holds the battery was not intact (no bolt) therefore it caused sparks due to no intact heat burned the hose that comes out of battery . Because of your irresponsible labor I had to go to dealership to have bolt placed . I have a video clearly explains how that hose was melted . It is not fixed yet . I dont know how much it will cost to fix it.
.let me itemize the problems maybe you can understand my point . You are responsible for the damage and the expenses.1. Because of bolt was missing sparks and heat caused melting of the hose coming from the battery.it needs to be replaced .
2. When a battery installed computer system should be reprogrammed and it should be registered so car recognizes the battery. I got chassis stabilization alerts and car died .
dealer had to do all this work and charged me $275.I hope I made myself clear. Lets not beat around the bushes . Bottom line yes .you are responsible for the charges of work related to your labor .
I have video , pictures and written proofs
