BBB Complaint
RE: ******* *****, Complaint ID - ********
To ****************************************************** has completed its review of ******* ****** complaint. The Company takes these types of inquiries very seriously and appreciates the opportunity to respond. It is Tribal policy that all customer complaints be handled in a prompt and fair manner and customer satisfaction is our top priority. Be advised, nothing in this communication should be construed as a waiver of the Tribes or the Companys sovereign immunity, all of which are expressly preserved.
COMPLAINT & RESPONSE
The central drive of Ms. ****** concern is that Boost Credit Lines loan terms are inconsistent with the laws of her home state. Boost Credit Line ************* is an arm and entity of the Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria. This Company is wholly-owned and controlled by the tribe and was established for the tribe's benefit and formed pursuant to tribal law, thus sharing sovereign immunity and, therefore, is not subject to state laws and licensing. As a best Company practice, we willingly follow all applicable federal regulatory guidelines and federal consumer protection laws, as required by Tribal law. Since the inception of our business, we have yet to have a justified regulatory complaint. The Company is fully regulated by, and in compliance with, the consumer laws of the Mechoopda Tribe law. To that end, the interest and fees applicable to the loan are permitted by Tribal law and they were accurately and clearly reflected in each loan agreement that was signed before receiving the loan.
PROPOSED RESOLUTIONAlthough the disputed loan is entirely legal under applicable law, we are sorry to hear that Ms. ***** has been facing financial hardship. We approach every client with empathy and respect, acknowledging the difficulties they may be experiencing. As a goodwill gesture, because the entire principal amount was repaid, and in an effort to prove our commitment to customer care, ******************** has waived the remaining balance and considers the loan paid in full. No action is required on Ms. ****** part and Boost Credit Line will not attempt to contact Ms. ***** in the future. We hope this resolves Ms. ****** concerns and we wish her the best of luck. However, if she, or the BBB has any further questions, please contact our **************************** at ************ and ask to speak to our Compliance Manager.
Sincerely,

Took out a $850 loan with this company. Interest rate is 628% and they want $2,900 for this loan to be paid in full. They are violating Indianas usury laws. They have already been involved in a lawsuit that they lost due to their illegal predatory loan practices and they still continue to do those illegal tactics. They claim to be owned/operated by a tribe which is false. They use the common rent a tribe scheme where they use a tribe name and pay that tribe so they can give out illegal loans. If this matter is not resolved I will be contacting my states attorney general to further this matter.Business Response

Mr. ******* has received two loans with Boost Credit Line between March 10, 2025 and March 16, 2025. He has received a total of $1,350.00 and paid only $9.45 in interest and fees. Customer satisfaction is paramount to the Companys fundamental business practice and Boost Credit Line makes every effort to accommodate each and every client request. We received email correspondence from Mr. ******* on 04/12/2025 and 04/13/2025, expressing dissatisfaction with their experience. We worked with Mr. ******* to reach a resolution that was fair to both parties. Mr. ******* confirmed their acceptance of our resolution directly with us via email on 04/15/2025. Attached is a copy of our correspondence with Mr. ******* and their acceptance. Finally, in an effort to additionally resolve Mr. ******** concern, Boost Credit Line Lending has stopped all interest from accruing on their loan.
We hope this resolves Mr. ******** concerns. However, if he, or the BBB has any further questions, please contact our **************************** at ************ and ask to speak to our Compliance Manager.

I am rejecting this response because:
It is illegal to charge NH residents this insane interest rate as you can see the attached file I have added l. NH is one of those states. My uncle is a part owner of one of the biggest law firms across the country and we plan on taking legal action. And every expense and if I have to fly out to go to this court date the expenses for that will also be included in the case. I have to take care of my sick mother and if I have to leave to go to court across the country the expense of hiring someone to take care of my mother will also be included so the ridiculous $400 + interest I paid I want it all back and I'm pretty sure that will be allot cheaper than getting sued. My uncle also said it doesn't matter if it is Tribal Loans aswell. So you guys will be hearing from my lawyers soon enough. This mental anguish you are putting me through will be brought up in court aswell. Thank you.

COMPLAINT & RESPONSE
******************** Complaint: It is illegal to charge NH residents this insane interest rate as you can see the attached file I have added l. NH is one of those states.
Our Response: To reiterate our original response, this Company is wholly-owned and controlled by the tribe and was established for the tribe's benefit and formed pursuant to tribal law. Similarly, Boost and your consumer loan agreement are governed exclusively by Tribal law and applicable federal law, regardless of the state in which you reside. Boost operates solely within the Tribes jurisdiction, not your state.
PROPOSED RESOLUTION
Although each of the nine loans you obtained from our Company were fully compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, we understand you are going through a difficult time, and we are sincerely sorry to hear about your mothers condition. We approach every client with empathy and respect, acknowledging the difficulties they may be experiencing. As a goodwill gesture, and because all principal was repaid, and in an effort to prove our commitment to customer care, we will agree to return all interest that was paid on your loans in the amount of $374.96 with a signed release form. If this is still satisfactory to you, please respond to the BBB complaint so we can close this issue and we will contact you directly to return the funds.
