I rented a house from First Accommodations from 12/18/21 to 12/23/21 via VRBO. We paid an extra $59 for damage insurance, and right before we left we took pictures of the house showing the state that we left it in. Shortly after we returned home, we received a note from First Accommodations saying that we damaged one of the bedroom doors in the house, but we were able to provide prompt proof that this was not the case. After we sent that proof, we were completely ghosted by the company. they never returned any of my repeated emails or phone calls, and never returned our $1,000 damage deposit. They also never filed a damage claim with our insurance carrier, so given their behavior I can only assume that this is their way of stealing deposits from renters assuming that they will give ** in frustration. I would like some help getting someone, anyone, from First Accommodations to call me back and explain why they think they are entitled to my $1,000 damage deposit. If not, my next stop is to *** them in small claims court. I would like to request that they immediately return the damage deposit, and if they have a legitimate claim, to file the necessary paperwork with Generali Global Assistance, the insurance company we paid for via VRBO.

I am writing to express my deep frustration and anger regarding my recent experience with your company. I booked a stay in ******, but due to the state of emergency declared by the governor and the dangerous conditions to drive, I wanted to cancel my reservation.I contacted your customer service team, but instead of getting the help I needed, I was encouraged to "buy insurance". I am appalled and disappointed with the complete disregard of my family's safety. You chose money over my family's well being and that is the hardest part of this process. To add insult to injury, I was only offered a partial refund - $550 from a reservation that was over $3000, which is completely unacceptable. I demand a full refund for my canceled reservation. I find it unethical that your company is holding onto my money despite the extenuating circumstances and the state of emergency declared in Tahoma.Ive also provided you with a link that details the Declaration of a State of Emergency by Governor ****** that indicates Placer County as an area in a state of emergency: *********************************************************************************************************************** Because ******, a city within Placer county, has been declared under a State of Emergency, Airbnb has the duty to afford our group a full refund under the policy your company has created. If you are able to justify a partial refund, then I welcome you to provide it. However, when taking account your policy and the declaration of emergency by state government officials, I do not see how anything less than a full refund would be considered acceptable. Your company claims to prioritize customer satisfaction, but my experience says otherwise. It is unacceptable to treat customers in this manner, and I demand that you rectify this situation immediately.DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
