This company is a 3rd party company hired by the actual insurance company that covers the contractor who damaged property at my home. The contractor poured 17 yards of concrete around a pool area that wasn't ready and had recently failed inspections. The contractor was terminated & decided to contract out 2 people to come dump the concrete on our property, which resulted in over $15k in damage. It would have caused more damage but we caught them quickly and was able to rent equipment to get a lot of the wet concrete out of the pool and pool system. If we didn't catch them and react so quickly it would have resulted in over $30k of damage to a new pool, new spa and pool and spa pump. The contractor ended up giving me his insurance information once police were called and I filed a claim with his insurance company- JMG **************** ****** ** on 8/1. I followed up the next day and received a response from ********************* on 8/2 that someone would be in touch. After that, I got an email from the current company which is Golden State Claim Adjusters. They asked for pictures and invoices which were sent the same day as the request on 8/7. They claim they were hired by ****** ******************** They claimed to be investigating my claim. After no reply to my emails and calls to *********************, the claims adjuster, I called corporate. I received a call on 8/20 from ********************* stating the wouldn't be covering the damage because it wasn't covered under *********** *********************** plan. I already knew that was false because the policy provided by the contractor said it was covered. Then **** said that they wouldn't cover the damage because they couldn't get ahold of the insured therefore they could validate my claim, even though I sent pics, video and receipts/invoices. After not receiving call backs or responses to emails I finally told the insurance company they are leaving me to choice but to file a compliant here, ********************* said "go ahead I'll just respond to it"

      *******************************:

Thank you for reaching out.  The handling adjuster will contact you tomorrow with an updated status.  The submitted loss does not appear to be covered under the policy issued to *********** Concrete and Construction.

      **********************************************

      Customer response

This is untrue. Ive been sent the policy and the property damage is listed as a covered damage. The insurance company hasnt even done the work to look into the claim. Ask for a copy of the policy. It clearly shows property damage.

      Business response

      10/31/2023

      Dear *******************************:

Thank you for reaching out. While the policy does cover property damage arising from an occurrence, it is subject to the conditions, exclusions, and endorsements contained therein.  The adjuster will explain how these apply to the submitted loss.

If you are reading this-- before you go in contract with a company, reach out to their insurer to verify they are responsive and professional in the event you need to make a claim-- THIS COMPANY IS NOT. I hired ***************** LLC, a general construction contractor for a project and the Golden State Claim Adjusters handle their claims. I contacted the claim the senior claim adjuster, *************************** claim number TCIC000612 with the documentation he requested on Dec. 15, 2022 and followed up several times about the damages of $119,590.00. After 5 months of no responses, I finally received a response on May 3, 2023 saying there were coverage issues that needed to be resolved. The contractor, without permission, and outside of the scope of the contract, negligently and recklessly, ripped down my deck, tore down walls in my house, destroyed the duct work and the siding. I am trying to receive payment for the damages caused. I had to pay out of pocket to fix my house and make it habitable. This company is a fraud and does not respond to customers. What is the point of having insurance if they are unresponsive and do not follow up on claims? This is absolutely absurd and the BBB should not allow this company to continue to mislead customers into believing their contractors have insurance when in fact the insurance company and claim adjusters DO NOTHING.

      **************:

We apologize for the amount of time that has passed.  The insured has not responded to our multiple requests for information nor paid the required Self-Insured Retention under the policy.  I am having a manager look into this and you will be contacted next week.   Thank you.

I am being forced to use this *************** because they are the adjusters on an insurance claim I have. If I could use "0" stars to rate them I would. So far dealing with this company has been a nightmare. I can't get any return emails from my adjuster (***********************) and when I have tried to reach his 2 supervisors by phone call and email I get no reply. I have been very patient. I have waited over 3 weeks for a reply and nothing. And from all the other reviews I have read both here and on YELP I am not alone, and have a very long road ahead of me just to get a small portion of my repairs reimbursed to me. Welcome to dealing with a ********** company. A very "hinky" company. I don't trust them at all.

A letter outlining the coverage position with respect to the submitted claim was issued to claimant on March 01, 2023

      Customer response

      04/19/2023

This company sent me a legal jargon letter saying they are not responsible. Not any surprise, just another insurance company getting rich off of people who are paying premiums and then when you need them to assist you they tell you you are not covered. A very crooked company.

      Business response

      04/20/2023

The coverage letter outlines the application of the insurance policy to the subject claim. Our adjuster and manager are available to further explain the letter in detail and the reasoning behind it, as we understand that the application of insurance can be complex to consumers.  We do understand that it can be disappointing when a policy of insurance does not apply to a submitted claim.  Please reach out if we can answer any additional questions.

I am a contractor. I damaged the property of a home while I was replacing the roof. I filed a claim with my insurance company. On September 20, 2022 ************************* of Golden State Claims Adjusters inspected the damage done at the property. It has now been 78 days and I have received no resolution from Golden State Claims Adjusters. The homeowners of the property I damaged are extremely upset with me because of this delay. I have called and emailed Golden State Claims Adjusters several times over the last 30 days and they never respond. What kind of business ignores their clients?

I filed a claim with golden state claims in May 2022, they did nothing to Handel the claim. They denied half the 16k claim without looking at the damages with their own adjusters, the claims adjuster I worked with will not return calls for weeks and all I get is the continued run around. It is now the end of November. I paid the **** deductible per my contract with the insurance company. They will not review the estimate they customer provided.

      Summary:

The claim was assigned to an adjuster on afterhours on 5/10/22.  The adjuster attempted to make contact with the insured and claimant before 10am the next morning.  She was able to make contact with the claimant representative and secure their insurance carrier information the same day.  She made contact with the claimant carrier, EMC, the same day as well.

The adjuster was able to reach and speak with the insured on 5/25/22 to gather information, request additional information and request payment of his Self-Insured Retention (SIR).  The insured did not believe that the damage would exceed his SIR.  The adjuster was in constant communication with the insured and claimant representatives as well as tendering the claim to another party.  The insured paid their SIR on 9/16/22.  The adjuster received an estimate of repair from the claimant on 9/27/22 and an offer to settle the claim was made to the claimant attorney on the same day.  She advised the insured of this offer within 10 days and updated the insured every 10 days as well as requesting a status of the claimants acceptance every 10 days.

The claimant attorney made a counteroffer to settle on 10/31/22, accepting our offer and countering with a request for the insured to forgo funds owed to him.  The insured was copied on the counteroffer email.  The adjuster made contact with the insured on 11/2/22 advising him that we suggest that he speak with counsel to determine how he would like to proceed.  This same information has been reiterated to the insured by the adjuster and management.  A partial disclaimer is being issued to the insured and the *** payment for the covered portion of the claim awaits acceptance of the offer and a signed release.

I am in the midst of trying to file a claim through this company. I have already filed one claim dated back to June 18th. The second claim that I've filed was this morning. It has taken them over two weeks to get back to me in regards to filing my claim. I'm very unsure what the hold-up is and why I haven't heard anything back from them. Regardless if there was some type of issue with the coverage of the claim, the fact it has taken this long to even hear from them is absurd. Surely, I would expect a quicker response time from an INSURANCE CLAIMS COMPANY. The only thing I would like is for this company to reach out to me as I've already sent them emails to their email address: *************************************************** I need this claim resolved ASAP.
