I believe the *** (National Testing Network) is unfairly charging its customers, and purposely offering a system (their virtual testing system) that does not work and is exceptionally easy to be disqualified from during or even before your test. I purchased a test for 5/20/2024, 1400. I readied my computer for this virtual test and made sure my webcam worked, that all extra programs were closed. The test started and I sat there watching the instructions, (these area all recorded on their end, they tell you this) when without warning the test immediately closed and I was directed to reach out to customer service. I did this and was told I would have to buy a whole new test ($60 a test) to try again. I asked about appealing for a refund as I felt it was not fair that my test had closed (The customer service person told me Firefox had opened in the background and the test immediately closed, this has never in my entire life of working with/using computers ever been witnessed by me before.). He told me in a nice way my chances were not good, but I insisted and he sent it up. I then bought a new test for $60 USD for 5/22/2024 at 1000 PST. I again set my computer up and started the intro to the test, while I was waiting for a ******* to come in, the ******* on Monday spoke out loud to me and I could reply to them, I was putting things away that I had placed on my bed, all within view of the camera and directly behind my computer chair, I was absolutely in frame and could be seen. The ******* did not even attempt to speak to me, and just marked me as a "No Show", this means I will have to pay the "No Show" fee, which is $25 dollars. I can then reschedule another test. These business practices are predatory, and prey on virtual test takers because it is easy, in the parameters that they have set, to disqualify people and collect more of their money. The ***, I believe is using this practice to collect many times the money a normal user would spend. Please investigate.
