    This review is being submitted to make those booking with Backroads to be cautious what you say or talk about while on their trips. Since you are traveling with people from all over it is important to know that if anyone reports you for anything, whether true or not, it may not be investigated or settled locally but instead the trip leaders will push it up the chain to Corporate. From our experience Corporate also will not investigate but will accept what trip leaders tell them and if it deems you in the wrong can actually separate you and/or remove you from the trip. Also be aware that Backroads has told us that it keeps information, essentially a dossier, on you that is passed along to future trips you may take, which they say is helpful to make your trip more enjoyable, but anything previously reported negatively is also kept and can be used to amplify subsequent/detriment decisions. We used to believe Backroads was a great tour company but when they would not verify what had been said or done and believed only one side of the story our opinion has totally reversed and we will never travel with them again. Being told you cannot participate in any more hikes, meals, or transportation and expected to even change hotels is embarrassing and humiliating, and no doubt leaves those in your group who were not involved in the incident and who have become your friends thinking you are some kind of criminal. They will not even interview witnesses who can back up your side. So if you elect Backroads please be careful what you say, ask or question.
