On Saturday, September 6th, I received a haircut from the stylist ****. Upon arriving home, I realized it was not at all what I asked for, and she had given me bangs when I specifically said I did not want bangs. I explained to her originally that I didn't like bang because I don't like styling my hair, which bangs require. I'm now left needing to style my hair daily. I reached out to the business to see about getting it fixed. Two different stylists examined my hair and agreed that it could not be fixed, and I just needed to grow it out. They even agreed that it would have been very difficult to stray this far from what I asked accidentally, implying that it was either extreme negligence on the original stylist's part, or intentional. One stylist suggested that it didn't sound like they planned to compensate me at all, and even suggested that my only course of action was to leave poor reviews online. I received a call from the manager today, saying that they would only refund me a gift card (that I paid with) and nothing further to make up for this egregious mistake. I was interrupted multiple times during this conversation, cut of by being put on hold, and was hung up on. I did not escalate the conversation, but merely pleaded for empathy and explained how distressing this has been, and asked her (******, the woman I spoke to) how she would feel if she were in my shoes. When I called back after I had been hing up on, the other person implied that I cut my own hair and ruined it, which is a lie. I'm disgusted at the treatment I received from this business, and completely dissatisfied with the solution that was offered me, which only offers me the option to spend more money there.

The stylists are independent contractors and not employees of the business. It is a business matter that should be handled directly with **** *. It was shared that the client cut her own hair after leaving home because she didnt like the cut. She was refunded in the format she paid. She presented a gift card. Thank you

I went to Essentials beauty salon with the sole person to use the gift card I was given. The gift card was purchased around Nov 2024 with no expiration date and I had the hair cut on June 14, 2025. I told them when booking that I had a gift card and they said okay. Once I finished having the haircut, they said they cant take the gift card as the business switched ownership. The name of the salon is the same with the same phone number. They did not disclose ahead of time that they would not accept gift cards.
