We bought our solar for our home in ***************** in 2021 from Bland. We purchased a roof from them too. Both came with a 30 year warranty. On July 2nd, the inverter and wiring went out on our solar, and we haven't had solar power since. With horror, Bland was not picking up their office line and you could not leave a message. You still can't My wife found a Bakersfield Newspaper article from last week saying they are pausing all operations. We need our solar issue fixed with the warranty that was a part of the price we paid. I am having to hire a different company and likely pay out of pocket to get this fixed.

i purchased solar from this company and when i purchased the system i pre paid for 10 solar cleanings. last september i tried to contact the company on multiple occasions, to schedule a cleaning, and never got through to anyone. today i have been calling every number possible and even trying HR, roofing, and hvac divisions but still no one is answering and there is no option to leave a message. i paid $500 for these 10 cleanings and have only received 1 and they have made it impossible to get a hole of anyone.

In June 2024 I began multiple projects with The Bland Company totaling $45,340. The projects include a new roof, new water heater, 2 whole house fans and a SOLAR panel system. EVERY area of installation for all of these jobs was met with promises not kept, shoddy workmanship that required multiple conversations to fix and repeated incompetents. The 6 months of frustration were discussed thru the ******* ***** ****** who happens to be an owner of this company. He repeatedly apologized and assured me it would be done right. Every aspect of my projects had serious problems and work done contrary to mutually agreed conversations. I will not go thru each issue other than say I strongly warn anyone considering doing business with The Bland Company. In November we FINALLY get city approval and The Bland Company turns on the Solar System. I was assured that when the system was active Id be educated on the system and the phone app. As well as navigating PG&E. This NEVER happened and in December I contacted PG&E MYSELF only to find I did not have approval to produce power AND my system should not be connected to the grid! Again BLAND dropped the ball when I texted ***** the owner and ******* ghosts me and has someone Ive never met call- the Bland Companys comment was do you want me to disconnect it?! I didnt mention employees on my roof vaping, disgruntled employees discussing the new owners and an instillation crew watching ******* videos to learn(still got it wired incorrectly). My recommendation is beware of this company. Contact me for detailed pictures, correspondence/notes/texts of my ordeal.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

We completed every aspect of our contract with Mr. ***** that was contracted. In addition, to attempt to appease him (not contracted and done at no charge) we added a complete trim and paint for his home after his roof was completed. We bent over backwards to complete this project and were held up time after time due to his anger and disrespectful attitude throughout the project. We completed the job in accordance with our contract and went above and beyond to please Mr. ****** The project took longer than expected but much of the delay was his own doing. This gentleman did not ever attempt to work "with us" to complete his project but instead fought us the entire time.

We have been in business over 40 years and have an exemplary record of customer service and quality work over that time, and this project, other than being completed less timely that we would have liked, was done so in the same manner. There are no disputes to any funds as we completed every aspect of the contracted project, signed off and approved by the local jurisdiction inspectors for every aspect of the project. Mr. ***** paid us in full for the work contracted and as I said, we did a lot of work for him at "no charge" that we were happy to do to make Mr. ***** happy. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to ever make him happy.

The bottom line is that we contracted with Mr. ***** on a project that surely had bumps along the way, but we resolved each item with him, had every portion of the project approved by the local jurisdiction and we even went "over and above" to appease Mr. ***** for any issues that he brought. This project was not perfect by any means, but it was completed per the contract and corroborated by the local jurisdiction relative to our work quality. Mr. ***** has no claim against Bland Company.

I didnt expect any less from Bland regarding their response. To be sold one thing  one thing and every aspect of the projects were done either poorly or required multiple fixes was unacceptable.  The connection of solar was initiated by ME 45 days after being connected to the grid without authorization from PG&E.  Another epic fail from Bland. To have the owner come to my home to browbeat me when I was dissatisfied was unacceptable and he lied repeatedly to my face. Basically didnt expect anything from BBB but Ill certainly continue to warn of this grifter company and family.

2014 - $$ Contract w/ Bland Solar/32 panels warrantied - 100% production. Trashed our property; installed panels on wrong side of roof which had to be removed and placed on the correct side; damaged gutters; hammered holes in house instead of saw cutting hole for breaker box; broke water main; damaged shop roof from throwing tools; wrong size breaker box; nothing was level or straight. Install was supposed to take a week, but wasn't finished for 3 months. Most of the workers were Rent-a-hands. (Have tons of pictures of all of the damage.) After demanding they compensate us for the damages, they offered $1,500 or two free panels. We took the two panels, which would have given us over 100% production. [Our PG&E bills have been much higher than we were told they would be.] We were told Bland Solar would be monitoring our inverters and if anything went wrong, they would let us know. Also, we had Enphase online access. A couple of years ago, the Enphase monitor showed some inverters weren't producing. I contacted Bland. Every time I was lied to. Techs wouldn't show at the appt. time. I would have to call to find out where they were. When they did show up, nothing was done - was told they would have to look into it. They never get back to me. They made excuses and didn't fix the issues. Recently noticed on Enphase more inverters not working. (Found out Bland doesn't monitor anymore.) I called to have them checked. After tech missed the appt. and then a second appt. showing up 4 hours late, tech said 7 inverters aren't working and the manufacturer of the inverters went out of business. He would talk to office and they would get back to me with options. No one got back to me. A week later, I called to find out what they were going to do. I told them I was tired of the run-around. Their office left a message that owner had talked to me and was working on it which was a lie. As of today I gave owner option of fixing issues or going to court.

Ms. ******************* response to your letter dated September 12th, regarding warranty issues relating to Miss ********, we have spoken to this customer more than once and reiterated each time that the solar panel manufacturer for the solar panels that they purchased from us over 10 years ago was no longer in business and that resolution would take some time. As of this writing, we still have not been able to locate and discuss the matter with any insurance provider who would have been responsible for warranty claims for the manufacturer after their bankruptcy.

We will allow until the end of September to hear back from someone associated with the warranty on the solar panels prior to proceeding with another plan through resolution of the matter. We will relay this some information to the customer today as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

I am rejecting this response because: They are bold face liars. They have never contacted us for a resolution in the past five plus years. We have had them out to our home several times over the years to fix this problem and to no avail. They say that there working on it. Months go by and by and again we call to make an appoint for them to come out. They tell us that we have ex amount of inverters that are not working.Again , months go by and by. We are considering legal action. This has been going on for well over 5 years. Enough is Enough. They told you (THE BBB) in there response to this that they would contact us. Guess what have not heard one thing from. We can't be the only customer that they have screwed over. Please hold them responsible!! Thank you for your time. *** ********.

       Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Bland (******* ****) on Wednesday, Oct 2, 2024, via e-mail, we were assured they (Bland) will furnish and replace our underproducing inverter modules at no cost to us.

They said they will call us to schedule the work to be done.  As for now, we accept their response, so we are hopeful they will follow through.

      Thank you,

Bland was contracted to work on my home for solar and air conditioning. The refrigerant and power for a split AC as run on the outside of my house which looks likencrap, and is not level with the house. The lines are short, so the panel can not be completely sealed. Leaks appeared in the living room ceiling immediately after an install, but Bland told the third party contractor in charge of fixing a collapsed ceiling due to not filling in the holes from the other AC install, that the leak was pre-existing. Conduit runs that were advertised as being clean in the attick were haphazardly run across my roof for the world to see. Bland butchered this install.

      ****,

I wanted to contact you in regard to the complaint on the BBB site about your install. To the best of my knowledge everything was corrected, our drywall service took care of all the damage, the conduit was corrected. If memory serves me correctly, I believe you stated you would retract your complaint on the BBB site. We are having issues with our finance company because of our BBB rating. Your retraction would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank You,

I purchased two solar systems from this company. I was told and my friend who purchased a solar system on my recommendation was told that bland was going to monitor our systems. They failed to monitor our systems to notify us that there is problem with the systems and we have electricity charges of over $5000 which are forced to pay PG&E. My charge was over $2200. I need help with bland solar company to pay $2200 to PG&E and provide me with monitoring of my two solar systems. Thanks
