      I want to share a frustrating experience with Gentle Monster to warn other customers. I had my friend exchange sunglasses in-store at the Soho store on my behalf. My friend handed the untouched sunglasses to the staff, who began inspecting them with an unreasonable level of scrutinyclaiming there were scratches and therefore the item was ineligible for return or exchange. My friend called me, and I watched the inspection via video. The so-called "scratches" were completely invisible to the naked eye. It honestly felt like they were looking for a reason to deny the return. I pointed out that I never wore themhow could they be sure the alleged marks werent there when we first bought them? They claimed that since the sunglasses werent purchased at their location, they couldnt speak for how carefully the product was inspected at the time of purchase at the other store. Eventually, they offered to extend the return by one day so we could go back to the American Dream store. Later that evening, I looked up Gentle Monsters official return policyit makes no mention of no scratches allowed. It simply states that returns of new/unused products are accepted within 14 days if the customer is unsatisfied. My husband and I examined the sunglasses under flashlight. WE COULDN'T FIND ANY SCRATCHES. We went back to the American Dream store. The assistant manager there examined the sunglasses and admitted he couldnt see any scratches either. However, after making a call to his superior, he told us he still couldnt process the returnbecause of "Gentle Monster protocol." I aksed him to pull out the protocol for me, but he couldn't. He also mentioned: I would like to process the return for you, but my higher-up said no. So they deny returns even the product is new and unused! This is completely inconsistent with their return policy! They are full of lies. This is completely SCAM!!!!!

      Returning a GM product is very challenging. On their sunglasses frame, there are multiple little stickers which are very easily falling when you try on. They also have a little card coming with the product that one can easily omit. To make a successful return, in addition to making sure the product in its perfect original condition, you'll also have to make sure all those little parts stay in their perfect original conditions. I think GM does this on a very evil purpose - THEY SET YOU TO FAIL SO THEY CAN SELL MORE.I purchased 3 pairs and decided to return 2 of them. Unfortunately, I placed the card for the product I kept into the return box for the one I wanted to return. After nearly 2 months waiting, I received a package and a refund decline saying the card was incorrect so they can't refund me. This is a truly disappointing shopping experience I've ever have.

      As a former customer and employee, I have to warn anyone that takes interest in working for this business, specifically this location. This company wants to overwork and take as much advantage of you as possible, with paying you minimum wage for doing managerial type roles and tasks. They also give no discount to employees. The manager of this store is NEVER in store, the whole hyped up positions are so screwed up. The manager here is passive aggressive, disrespectful, and undermines the hard work the employees do here for him while he doesnt do his job or hardly ever appears in store. Theres also a huge language barrier with the company (being that they are a Korean brand) and this has caused so much confusion and errors. While this brand has so much potential, they arent using it and it feels like a startup. Whatever you do dont work here unless you want to be taken advantage of and never credited for your hard work. There are so many other places that will pay you what you deserve and actually care about you.

      As a devoted fan of Gentle Monster since I first discovered them on a trip to *****, I am heartbroken to write a negative review about a brand I once admired and recommended to friends and colleagues. My recent experience with their poor customer service and deceptive return practices has left me feeling betrayed.I initially attempted to return a pair of frames, but the process quickly turned into a nightmare. After mistakenly including the wrong authentication card with the return, Gentle Monster sent the item back to me without any explanation or attempt to contact me. When I reached out to them, they agreed to accept the item if I provided the correct authentication card. I sent a photo of the right card for confirmation; however, they then requested additional photos of the frames before processing my return label again, even though they had previously possessed the glasses.Throughout this ordeal, their support system emails were constantly flagged as spam and moved into my email's trash folder, causing frustrating delays in our correspondence. Gentle Monster acknowledged these issues but still denied my return request after "too much time had lapsed" due to the existing email problems.Moreover, I tried reaching out to their customer service phone number, hoping to speak to a live person, only to be met with an ineffective system and unable to talk to a live person. It's disheartening to see a brand I once held in high esteem avoiding customer concerns and failing to resolve disputes fairly.Their return policy is inflexible, and they are quick to hide behind it when convenient. Customers should beware of getting stuck with purchases they will never be able to return. It's a shame. Because of this I'll never purchase from you again.
