I was hired as a substitute teacher for ESS (every second counts) a substitute teacher company with no training. I picked up a Fourth grade assignment that consisted of students with disruptive behavior and vulgar vocabulary. Student refused to write his name on assignment and complained about not wanting to be in school. Student then runs to office and comes back with principal and school police to ****** me out after saying, " acting *********** I was charged with disorderly conduct and found guilty after students lied in their statements saying I threw them the finger and called them as one student stated, a b**** My complaint is that I was the only one fired and criminally charged after other students and staff say worst things as a student said after I shared the story with them after listening to their inappropriate vulgar language. I didn't have the training to deescalate the situation and was found guilty of disorderly conduct 2 months later after parents of students complain that his behavior was worse, because I used the word ********* The prosecutor convinced the jury that the classroom was a public place and that their was a breach of the Peace. My fine assessed by jury was 250 plus court fees all totaling 340 USD. I don't think it's fair/justice that other teachers, staff ,admin, and students including school PD are NOT being held accountable for the inappropriate and vulgar language they use during disorderly student situations. Other teachers get a warning or fired, not criminally charged. Now I have a disorderly conduct charge on my record, which is preventing me from finding a job. If I only had the training, I could of prevented this, however this is a crisis in the classroom. Certified teachers can't even handle these situations. Why am I the only being charged for using the word *********
