    We hired this company to clean the windows in our home. We have used them several times in the past 3 yrs with good results and great customer service previously. Our windows are covered with stainless steel security screens. On 3/24/2023, they came out to clean our windows, unlocked all the security screens first, and then went around the house to clean the windows. Unfortunately, because it became windy, 2 of the larger screens blew open and came out of their hinges and fell off the house. The company who makes and installs the security screens (Bulldog Security Screens) said it will cost $1500 to replace them. BSS also said the screens were not made to be left open when it is windy, which is common sense. The owner of Better View Window Cleaners said that his company was not at fault, but offered to pay half. We feel they should pay all of it. He actually said their employees are trained to not work on any windows with hinged screens of any type if it is windy. The weather report that day said winds were 18 mph with gusts 5-10 mph higher than that. The owner of BVWC said 2 things; 1) it was not windy that day, and it was a "random act of nature" (false) and 2) the security screens were designed poorly, as to fall out so easily (also false). We maintain that either the window cleaners that day should have either 1) opened and cleaned each window individually to make sure none were being blown open unattended, or 2) if their own policy is to not work when it gets too windy, to have simply told us that they could not finish the job that day due to wind.
