Bought a 2017 Optima from dealer in March 2022 and withih 4000 miles (6 months) car started having oil consumption problems . I took it to Dealer and after several times for several tests they said the cars engine had to be rebuilt Called Dealer and they sent me to their mechanic . Called Mechanic and they told me they had no records of working on my vehicle Called dealer and they said that the warranty had ran out and good luck did nothing to try to rectify problem . Went to VIN company only to find out that car was at one time a rental car which was not disclosed to me.

    To whom it may concern,

The customer bought a vehicle from us back on March 7, 2022.  The car came with our Buyers' Warranty of Merchantability for two weeks and/or 500 miles.  We offer an extended warranty to all our customers at an extra cost.  In the case of Mr. ******, he declined an extended warranty.  Nevertheless, at Auto Liquidators, we try to go the extra mile for our customers and help them when possible.  In this case, the customer came to us a year after he purchased the vehicle, not six months after he purchased the car, as he states in his letter.

The vehicle was bought in March of 2022 as AUTO LIQUIDATORS stated with 86632 miles on it.(att 1) However when I bought the car it was never disclosed that this car was a previous RENTAL car. If so I would not have bought it. I believe that information was held back to make the sale.

I also it appears on the Vehicle report (attachment 5) that I  bought the car for less than what  they bought it for which doesn't sound right unless there was some reason to do so.

By September of 2022 (6months) with a little more than 4,000 miles on it (90935) I took it to the dealer because of excessive oil consumption test (Attachment 1).  I brought it back to the dealer several times which accounts in elapsed time until now because they hadn't fixed the problem and was doing follow up testing

It was  ultimately determined that the car oil slingers had scored the engine block. Sales Manager said that oil looked like it was never changed (att. 4)

When I did contact Scott at AUTO LIQUIDATORS he sent me to supposedly the person who done pre-sale  maintenance on it. I called them and they said they had no records of working on the car.  I called Scott again he was much more short and did not offer any relief or help .He just told me that  I refused the warranty and GOOD LUCK!!

If you look at the attachments it shows that the car was sold without disclosing vital information and possible negligence of AUTO LIQUIDATORS of selling this car and  implied when asked  that it was looked over  but cannot come up with any verification. I dont believe this dealership stands by thier cars . If it had been 16 days or 600 I don't beieve they would have offered any help. If there is anymore informationthat is needed please let me know.

    To Whom It May Concern:

When a customer buys a car, no law requires us to disclose that the vehicle was used as a rental or the previous vehicle ownership. However, had the customer asked about previous owners, we would have researched that information and advised him of whatever we found.

The Vehicle Purchase Order signed by the customer states (we are more than glad to provide the document if given permission from the customer):
Section b.1 "THE SELLER HEREBY WARRANTS THAT THE VEHICLE WILL BE FIT FOR THE ORDINARY PURPOSES FOR WHICH THE VEHICLE IS USED FOR 15 DAYS OR 500 MILES AFTER DELIVERY, WHICHEVER IS EARLER."

The customer’s memory is incorrect. Six months and four thousand miles after purchasing (March 7, 2022), the buyer took the vehicle to Royal Kia. We were not even informed of the problem for one year after the date of purchase.

We are unsure why he states that we sold him a unit for less than we purchased it. If the market value drops below our investment, we occasionally sell the vehicle at a loss, but this was NOT the case in this sale. Also, all our vehicles are mechanically inspected before we sell them.
