University is a scam. Thought financial aide was going to cover a semester but it didn't cover for whatever reason. Disputing this and trying to find a resolution is impossible since they do not ever respond to emails and cannot give an answer over the phone. At least make an effort to resolve issues and disputes ASU.

I started my classes and was told specifically that my financial aid was covering my semester because I also did a dependency override. They switched my success coach after I started the semester and the new coach was the one who told me that I was covered. They then proceeded to wait the day after the deadline to tell me that I owe $6k for half of my first semester and that I had only 3 days to pay it. I dropped my classes immediately and now I have been trying for months to get a hold of someone through email and phone and no one has an answer for me. I then got a letter in the mail from the ****************** saying im past due for the payment. IM NOT PAYING FOR ANYTHING. I WAS WRONGFULLY INFORMED THEREFORE I DROPPED THE CLASSES. Why would I pay for classes I took for a week and a half? This school absolutely does not care about education or even helping people out, they just scam for money. Also the people that work there need to be more aware of what they are telling students because this is not fair to me. This school is not getting a ***** from me and I will make sure of it.

ASU has unfair collections practices. I left the university since the cost was too high for an out of state online student. I thought my account was settled as we paid our tuition in full, however, based on my withdrawal timing I had to return some student loan money. I would have done this had they contacted me. (which they did not even know until several months after the withdrawal since they sent the refund to our house) They sent me one email addressed to the wrong person, so I thought it was scam. No physical mail was sent. They then assigned the debt to *************** Solutions who continued to harass me. Since I thought this was a further scam, I never returned the calls. Then finally I called ASU, and they explained the situation but said I need to settle with Reliant. They also added $250 in late charged which they will not waive and point me to a long policy on their website. All for $1,700. In any case, we could have addressed the situation earlier had there been better communication and actual physical mail sent to my home. It's a sad state of affairs when public institutions with millions of dollars of tax payor dollars and endowments harass students for $1,700 without trying to contact them in good faith. when they actually refunded the money but made a mistake on the aid amount that should have been refunded as result of the withdrawal. Contact should be my mail and email and only 1 email could be located.

In a recent email communication with this student, ASU's **************** Services provided a thorough explanation of the charges to the student. Our records also confirm that multiple attempts were made previously to contact the student via email and mail on 5/22/23, 6/19/23, 7/18/23, 9/18/23, 10/17/23, 11/2/23, and 11/20/23; the mailings were sent to all available domestic addresses on file and were returned to ASU as undeliverable. We encourage this student to contact ASU **************** Services to discuss repayment options or this matter further, at ************.

I'd write no stars if I could! ITS A SCAM!!!!!!!I am writing to share my disappointing experience with Arizona State University (ASU) and to caution potential students about their financial practices and customer service. I encountered significant issues with ASU's financial department, starting with misinformation from my onboarding counselor about course costs. I was informed that classes cost $500 each, not per unit, leading to unexpected charges exceeding my budget. Despite multiple attempts to clarify the total amount due before the drop deadline, I was repeatedly misinformed and ultimately charged $1,500 plus late fees. When I sought help, I was advised by a counselor to fabricate an excuse about an injury to avoid the chargesa suggestion I find highly unethical. The financial office's lack of transparency and delayed information on their homepage exacerbated the situation. Despite my numerous calls and emails requesting the correct total before the drop deadline, I received no assistance until it was too late. This resulted in unjust charges and a feeling of being lied to and stolen from. As an online student, this treatment was particularly distressing. Even when I traveled from ********** to visit ASU in person, hoping to resolve the issue, the staff were shockingly impolite and dismissive. My attempts to address the issue through approximately 12 emails to the online psychology department and numerous calls were met with indifference and redirection. It was only during my in-person visit that I discovered my emails were being overlooked, and my messages were bouncing back and forth without any action. This inefficiency is unacceptable for an online institution. My experience with ASU has led me to discourage others from pursuing their online programs.

Hello, thank you for your comments and for providing us the opportunity to respond. We contacted various departments at the university to learn more about this students situation and efforts made to assist them. It is unfortunate that the student was surprised by the cost of the classes, as well as the tuition refund deadline for the semester in which they were enrolled, and can understand this created a stressful situation for them. The ***********, the home college for this students academic program, did fully evaluate their situation in the spring of 2023. Without extenuating, documented circumstances that would meet the criteria, an exception to the withdrawal deadline policy could not be provided to the student. Our policies regarding tuition deadlines are designed to ensure consistency for all students. The medical/compassionate withdrawal option exists for students who are prevented from continuing with their classes due to extraordinary cases, and can allow them a refund, pending college review and approval. Without knowing each students specific situation, it is often an option that is shared with students so they are aware of it and can choose to pursue it if they believe they would qualify.

I originally was so excited to attend this school based on their description. Going through the application process was great and the people were very helpful. Once I started classes (online) it was difficult to understand the system. I reached out for assistance but did not receive it. I decided to withdraw and apply to another school. I was told by the advisor I was good to withdraw, which I did. They ended up charging me $1999.00 for a class I did not attend. When I inquired about this, I was told there was such thing as a session A and session B and that I had dropped out after session A so I had to pay the money. I would recommend finding another school, especially my fellow veterans!

Hello, thank you for your comments and for giving us the opportunity to respond. We have contacted ASU Online as well as the ASU ********************* *************** to learn more about their interactions with this student. All ASU students should receive outreach communications from success coaches and advisors, and our records indicate these efforts were made through ASU Online multiple times to support this student at the very beginning of their enrolled semester. It is unfortunate that the student withdrew from their course after the tuition refund deadline, which is after the first two weeks of classes, and can understand this may have created a stressful situation. Our policies regarding tuition deadlines are designed to ensure fairness and consistency for all students. Additionally, veteran or military-connected students are encouraged to connect with the ********************* *************** for support and resources to help them succeed through their college journey. More information can be found at ********************************************.

Arizona State University- ********* design school 2015 -2017.They need to be investigated and supervised for theft and using students for their designs. There is an interior design professor that I think used my student design ideas for her own business without my approval or consent. Meanwhile, Im in student debt and cant finish the program for similar reasons. This is inappropriate school culture and illegal. It needs to be stopped.
