We signed a contract with A&L Landscaping (ROC #329630) and paid a 50% deposit in the amount of $6,025 on Sept 8, 2022. The contract states that work was to begin no later than end of January 2023. When work had still not started on April 25th, 2023, an addendum to the contract was agreed to, whereby the project would begin on May 29th, 2023 or a full cash refund would be awarded. No significant progress has been made as of July 5, 2923. They've been on site only twice, didn't work a full 8 hour day either time, and haven't been back since May 31st. Supporting documentation is available on request, including signed copies of contracts, the receipt for deposit, photos of work performed, and a detailed timeline of written and verbal communications going back to August 3, 2022 (a full 11 months ago). Of note most recently: * Nobody has answered multiple calls to the main line since April 26, 2023, and its voice mailbox has been full since at least 6/13. Another number goes straight to voicemail, which is also full. The last number is not in service. * Email sent on 6/13 and 6/27 have gone unanswered. * I also attempted in-person contact on 6/30, making the 40 minute drive to Sierra Vista and back. I did find evidence indicating that it was still occupied, but the gate was locked and nobody appeared to be on site. Having made every effort to resolve this matter informally and in good faith, we see no choice at this point but to ask for assistance from your agency and others. We respectfully request an investigation into A&L Landscaping's business practices, and further that they be compelled to refund our deposit per the "time of essence" provision in the original contract and subsequently reinforced in the start of work guarantee.
