1 starDo not purchase Healthcare Benefits from Merchants Benefits Administration. This is a complete SCAM operation. They do not follow through with the coverage that is stated in the documents you receive and unfortunately, you have no recourse after paying the premium for several months, file a claim only to find out they will not honor what you've paid for. I would highly recommend only purchasing through the Big Name healthcare providers. Do not fall prey to these low class companies as they are stealing people's hard earned money and providing nothing in return.Merchants Benefit Administration

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. Were truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting this situation must feel. Please allow us to clarify that Merchants Benefit Administration****** (MBA) does not sell insurance or benefit plans. We are a third-party administrator contracted to process claims according to the terms outlined in the benefit plans offered by various entities. Our role is strictly administrative, and we do not participate in the sale, marketing, or design of the plans themselves. We take complaints very seriously and would welcome the opportunity to review your situation in detail. If you are able to provide any additional information, we would be glad to investigate further and work toward a resolution. Our goal is always to ensure that every concern is handled with care and professionalism.Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.Review fromSandra R

1 starAvoid Merchants Benefit Administrator / First Health Network Total Scam I signed up for insurance with Merchants Benefit Administrator (also known as ********************) after a salesperson promised me I would be covered at 70% with no deductible. That turned out to be completely false. This company is a scam. I paid $399 a month expecting coverage, but when I needed medical care, I was hit with a bill close to $10,000. They didnt cover anything. I was left paying for everything out of pocket despite having insurance. Whats the point of paying monthly premiums if you still have to cover all your medical costs? This has been a nightmare experience. Save yourself the troubledo not call them, do not sign up with them. This insurance is a total rip-off.0 starMerchants Benefit Administration

Good Morning,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. However, I believe your concerns may be misdirected. Please note that neither Merchants Benefit Administration (*********) nor First Health Network are insurance carriers. ********* serves solely as the third-party administrator responsible for processing claims, while ************ provides access to a network of participating doctors and providers.Additionally, ********* and ************ are not involved in the marketing or sale of any insurance plans. For questions or concerns regarding plan details or enrollment, we recommend reaching out directly to the agency through which your plan was purchased. If we can assist further within our scope, we are happy to do so.Theo | Director *******Sandra R

This is a critical distinction that should be made clear to anyone seeking health insurance. When I called and search online , I explicitly requested health insurance. The representative told me I was covered at 70% with no deductible. At no point did they clarify that this was not actual insurance or that MBA was only a third-party administrator. I called many times and was transfer back and forth or left on hold.I still believe this setup is misleading at best, and potentially a scam. And I am clearly not alone in this. The reviews on ****** and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website reflect many other individuals who feel they were misled in the same way.People deserve transparency when it comes to their health coverageespecially when they are paying for what they believe to be insurance.Review fromLloyd C

1 starOn October 1, 2024, this company took over the administration of my quality Nationwide Dental policy and ruined it. They do not send invoices and the website is difficult to access. When I called in to pay a premium today, I was advised that the policy had lapsed. I am very dissatisfied. ***** V. ********Merchants Benefit Administration

Dear Mr. ************ you very much for taking the time to share your experience with MBA. We truly appreciate the opportunity to review your concerns and assist you further. Our records reflect that we received three calls from you on April 9, 2025, between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM. During your third call, you requested to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor's notes indicate that they clarified your request, confirming that you were seeking an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) rather than a Certificate of Creditable Coverage. It also appears that the supervisor guided you through the process of accessing your claim information conveniently through our member portal, in an effort to expedite your access to the documents rather than waiting for delivery by mail.We are truly sorry to hear that you felt there were difficulties in reaching us. Based on our review, it appears that you were able to connect with our team, and that we were able to address your concerns during that interaction. However, we always welcome feedback and remain committed to ensuring that your needs are fully met.Should you have any additional questions or if there is anything further we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us at **************. We are here to help and would be happy to assist you.Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to support you.Sincerely,TheoReview fromTanea T

1 starI was led in a circle by multiple customer ***resentatives when attempting dispute a claim. I was first advised to call First Enroll, who said I had to contact ***************** with MBA. They then told me I needed instead to call ******** insurance member services, who transferred me to **************************, who told me I needed to speak with *****************. . . the line was disconnected 2x, and then when trying to understand the process, the final *** I spoke with hung up on me after speaking to me with a very condescending and patronizing tone.Merchants Benefit Administration

Good Morning,Ive reviewed your account and the claims in question. I see that you contacted us on three separate occasions and, in each instance, were provided with accurate information, except for one clarification regarding the restrictions of your policy. Please note that your policy includes a 30-day waiting period for sickness benefits. All of your submitted claims fall within that initial 30-day period following activation. The only services not subject to this waiting period are preventive care, vaccinations, and screenings mandated by the *************** Act.Accordingly, your claims were denied in alignment with the terms of the plan we administer. As always, you are welcome to appeal any adverse decision. Appeals may be submitted to the following address:MBA Appeals ********************************************************* Thank you for your time and understanding. Please be assured that your claims were reviewed and processed in full accordance with your plan's guidelines.Review fromDebra R

1 starIf I could give this company zero Stars I would. This is a joke. I needed coverage and contacted them and I wrote down everything they told me I would be covered for. Well they kept saying this was insurance but then I get the card which says it's a discount card. They also told me that I had aprescription plan and low and behold I don't have prescription coverage. I have called this company numerous times and talked to several people and was told a supervisor will call me back which never happened. I cannot find a doctor that will accept this as I need to see a urologist and not one urologist in my state will accept merchants benefits. Please stay clear of this company do not pay for this. You are just losing your money. Unfortunately I have to wait until the fall when open enrollment starts again.Merchants Benefit Administration

Good Morning,We understand your concerns regarding the coverage provided by your current plan. Merchants Benefit Administration****** (********) operates as a third-party administrator, focusing on administrative services such as claims processing for various insurance products. We do not engage in the marketing or direct sale of these plans.?Upon reviewing your plan, it appears you have enrolled in a Wellness Only Plan, which offers limited coverage primarily centered around preventive services. Wellness plans are designed to help maintain health by providing access to services like routine check-*** and screenings, but they do not typically cover broader medical expenses.?We acknowledge that there may be discrepancies between the information provided during the enrollment process and the actual coverage received. However, since ******** does not participate in the sale or marketing of these plans, we are not involved in the discussions or representations made at the point of sale.?We regret any inconvenience or confusion you have experienced and recommend reaching out directly to the agent or entity that facilitated your plan's purchase to address your concerns effectively.Thank you for your understanding.Sincerely,************************************ | *******Review fromjames D

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. I would like to clarify that ******************** is not an insurance provider but rather a network of healthcare providers and facilities. They collaborate with various insurance companies to offer discounted rates for medical services.Given this, it appears your complaint may be misdirected. I recommend reviewing your insurance policy documents or contacting your insurance provider directly to address your concerns effectively. If you need assistance in identifying the appropriate contact or have further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.?Best regards,Review fromFabio F

1 starShadiest company of all time, I've had this joke of a company sold to me over the phone, which should've been a red flag right there. I've had coverage from 2024, and in September when I returned from a overseas trip with a stomach virus I went into the emergency for some IV and to run some simple tests. I received a bill from the hospital for roughly $500, which I paid. Then fast forward to January 2025, my wife found me a coverage via the market place so I called them to cancel the policy since there was no need for 2 active insurance. When I spoke to the *** over the phone they ensured me I wasn't going to be billed again and recurring charges were discontinued. Low and behold, the following month I was charged $300+ again, I called in and they tried to give me the run around bla bla bla and hung up on me. So I called *************** to get that unapproved charged removed. Then the worse happened, these people never paid the hospital from my visit and the week I dropped them they passed me the entire bill of $6,336.41! Stating insurance wouldn't pay, even the lady from the emergency room mentioned they were impossible to get a hold on and based on these reviews they're setting themselves up for a lawsuit. No wonder you have civilians taking actions in their own hands lately, these companies need to be stopped and at least regulated. No way a visit to the emergency for 2 IV bags cost $6k. Dear *************************** your complaint appears to be misdirected. ********* is not an insurance company, nor do we process premiums, sell, or market insurance policies. We at soley as the claims processosr and plan administrator. Based on the content of your complaint, it seems your concerns involve both a refund and the coverage details of your policy. I can confirm that the plan you selected is a LIMITED MEDICAL INDEMNITY POLICY, which provides fixed reimbursements for specific services. This is not a comprehensive medical insurance policy. We always encourage members who contact us regarding claim processing to thoroughly review their policy to ensure a clear understanding of the coverage. Since coverage appears to be a key aspect of your complaint, I believe there may have been some misunderstanding regarding the policy's terms. To assist you, I have listed a breakdown of the benefits provided under the policy you purchased: - ********************* Visit** 3 visits per yea - Co-pay Maximum per Visit: **$25** - Maximum Reimbursement per Visit: **$150 - Specialist or ****************** Visit 1 visit per year - Co-pay Maximum per Visit: **$50** - Maximum Reimbursement per Visit: $300 - In-Patient Hospitalization Benefit - $1,000 per day, up to $5,000 per year - 12-month pre-existing condition limitation** applies *This policy does not have coverage for emergency room care or visists.Additionally, please note that ********* has no control over hospital charges or any other service providers pricing. The plan you selected utilizes the Firt Health Netowrk of Providers and Facilities and if the said provider is within that network there are set reimbursements for covered services, but any remaining balance after the plans benefit payout is the responsibility of the patient. I will continue to pray for them as they are not good people nor been in a part of society that customer service skills are a must.Merchants Benefit Administration
