I spent over $12,000 with iWired for a full Control4 home automation system, TVs, and speakers. The system never worked smoothly and required constant service calls. But what finally ended the relationship was how they handled a basic billing issue.A $349 monitoring fee (for a service I never used) failed after my card expired. Instead of calling or trying to resolve it, they sent it straight to collections.I called multiple times. Billing never responded. They eventually called my wife for my number (which I had already provided by email) and were rude to her. When they finally reached me, they hung up mid-call. Later, they tried to reframe it in email to make it sound like I was the problem. I have documentation proving otherwise.Their email response didnt include a way to resolve the issue. Instead, they sent a templated ***ly clearly written using ChatGPT. You could spot it immediately. Polished, robotic, and full of policy speak. They had the chance to say, Click here to pay your balance. They didnt. After I pointed out their *** had been rude to my wife, they accused me of verbal harassment and false accusations and threatened to contact authorities. For stating facts. That overreaction speaks volumes.I paid the collections agency directly, meaning iWired got less than full value and lost a loyal customer. A minor billing issue turned into a complete failure of basic professionalism.A problem is a fantastic opportunity to earn or lock in a client, especially over something as minor as an expired card. Instead, iWired chose to escalate, deflect, and burn the relationship. If youre considering them for any Control4 work, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
