I purchased a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography Sport from Scottsdale Mitsubishi on 12Feb25. I purchased this vehicle from out of state; I was sent videos of interior and exterior. At the time of purchase, I was told that someone would call me to schedule shipment of the vehicle. When I was given the price of shipping it was double what I had originally been told. When I asked the finance person why, they told me that the car was being shipped in a covered vehicle which incurred additional cost, it did not arrive on a covered vehicle. As part of the purchase, I purchased multiple warranties including a ceramic coat on the exterior and windows and was told this would take a few days to complete. After the vehicle was purchased, I requested almost daily an update on when the vehicle would be delivered. It was not delivered until the late evening of 26Feb25, with no updates from the dealership, it had not even enough gas for me to get it home from the delivery location. Immediately upon driving the vehicle the check engine light came on. I contacted the dealership with no response to calls, texts or emails. I reached out repeatedly to acquire the warranty documentation on the warranties I had purchased. It was not until I threatened to get the law involved that these documents were even provided to me. I received these documents on 27Mar25. Now the vehicle has been at Land Rover/Range rover dealership, trying to be repaired. The following issues have been determined so far: failed fuel pump driver module, failed secondary battery, GFCI fault in charging electrical inlet module and control module update (this one repair requires the update of 5 other systems), plus the vehicle was delivered while in need of a transmission service. It is completely unbelievable to me that the dealership did not know about these issues in the vehicle, as the vehicle was delivered with a check engine light immediately coming on. One issue is covered by purchased warranties.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. We have concluded that we will pay $2000 toward the repairs as agreed to by the customer. Thank you for the opportunity to help.

After agreeing to the price on a vehicle, shaking hands on it and having me sign a paper agreeing to the deal that was offered, the Finance Manager came back to me and said they made a mistake and would not honor the deal agreed to. I have documentation of the offer that was agreed upon and shook hands on it. If there was a miscommunication on their end, thats their responsibility. Not only is this bad business but may also breach a legally enforceable agreement.Business Response

Went to this location on March 8th @10am and was told that I was guaranteed an approval even with my credit being bad and having a repossession. They had me buy insurance for the car I was looking at and they also had me give them my $1,000 down payment upfront before signing any paperwork for the "approval". Then they tell me I need a co signer which i got one. Then at 4pm they tell me they couldn't get me approved and said I couldnt get my down payment back til Monday morning and that it would be Zelled to me. So now today is Monday March 10th and still the money hadn't been refunded. Called at 11am and talked to the account manager and she said she had to look into and made it seem like I was lying to her. Then no call back so I called at 2:30pm and as soon as I asked for one of the managers I got hung up on. Called back then asked for a manager again. Then talked to another woman who said they don't zelle money to people and it would be 3-5 days til I got my money back. Then talked to the sales manager and then he said they can Zelle it to me. They send me the paper to sign off on it and now they said tomorrow March 11th I would get it zelled back to me. Like they clearly don't know what they are doing and basically stealing people's hard earned money for their own benefit. They really need to learn not to take money before a deal is actually approved because I need my money for a down payment at a different dealership that got me approved no problem. So now my credit and my roommates credit has been hit hard and for nothing. Also texting, calling and emailing asking me if I found another co signer and saying they are gonna tint the windows on the car I wanted but yet I walked out with no deal with them and no car. Just want it on record that this company doesn't know what they are doing and to give me my money back and stop contacting !Initial Complaint

I purchase a 2024 mitsubishi outlander from scottsdale mitsubishi on 7.18.24. As with other complaints, I was charged for Lojack $799, $799 ceramic tinting that doesnt exist, and $699 for key fob warranty, I was told these were not optional and came on all vehicles. I was provided with no copies of my contract and no copies of any paperwork related with the above charges. In addition, I came to the dealership to see a different car that I was told was unavailable to see because it was on loan. Although, I was assured that it was available to see over the phone. This was a clear bait and switch tactic. I contacted the dealership and the salesman numerous times and was told that they would provide paperwork, which they never did. Now they dont respond to any communication.Business Response

We always provide digital copies of all paperwork, and are happy to print upon request. Since receiving this complaint, the docs were emailed again. We also reached out to the coborrower, which said she does not have any issues.

I have received digital copies finally. I would like an explanation as to why I was told that the “extras” like key warranties, ceramic tint, and LoJack were not optional. Same as the other complaints on BBB.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. Our website clearly states on every vehicle "Dealer accessories may be removed and are not required for purchase". We apologize if there was any miscommunication on the dealerships part.Customer Answer

I understand it’s on the website but it was told to me that it was not optional. If you would meet me halfway on this I would be satisfied, I don’t want a refund for all of it. Just the charge for the phantom tint. The key fob warranty and LoJack I can deal withInitial Complaint

On August 14th, 2024, my son agreed to purchase a vehicle upon the contingency of the sell of his vehicle. The CARFAX showed Odometer Tampering. The vehicle was being advertised as having ****** miles. However, the CARFAX showed several entries that the vehicle had over ******* miles. When questioned about the mileage discrepancy, the salesman assured my son the vehicle had ****** miles. During the signing of the contract my son asked that all the "add-ons" being tacked onto the purchase price be removed, such as the $799 Nano Ceramic Tinting, $1089 for the CILAJET Ceramic and a PORT KEY FOB 3YR insurance for $699. He was advised they could not be removed, and was told the tint was required per AZ State Law. The price of this $25,000 vehicle ended up at $36800. My son was not provided a copy of any documents he signed (off an Ipad). He left the dealership under the impression he would finish signing the contract once he brought in his down payment and once he took possession of the vehicle. Two days later my son went back to the dealership to cancel the purchase and request his deposit back. He was told it was too late and the loan had been funded. *********, the manager, told me my son he had agreed to purchase the vehicle even after seeing the CARFAX. I told ********* this was deceptive business practices and my son was a first time car buyer and he coerced him and took advantage of him. He responded "he's over the age of 18." ********* was extremely unprofessional and I asked several times to speak to a GM. He then mentioned he was willing to put my son in another vehicle with the same payments, of course another $36000 car. We do not wish to do business with this dealership, my son just wants his deposit refunded. I have left messages, and have yet to get a response from anyone, therefore I am seeking the assistance from BBB.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from Scotsdale Mitsubishi and was tricked into purchasing warranty and gap from the dealer. I was told in order for the bank to finance me the vehicle I would have to purchase the add-onsBusiness Response
Date: 09/03/2024
Thank you for reaching out. Adds to the sales price are never required to buy a vehicle from our dealership. Extended Warranty and GAP are also cancellable items. The dealership has reached to the customer to provide the link for cancellation requests.Customer Answer
Date: 09/05/2024
I was informed by the finance personnel that it was necessary to purchase the *** and extended warranty in order to be approved for the vehicle. Therefore I was sold the add ons under false pretenses. I would like a refund of the 75 dollar "cancelation fee" and all of the funds that were taken for the months of the service prior to cancelation.Business Response

07/24/20245 5-6pm i walked into Scottsdale Mitsubishi. I had my own bank and my own loan. Sale **** wanted us to finance through their own banks to get us a better rate. I was shown the price of $56,991 assuming that is what we would be financing. Since this is what I assumed we were financing we went through with the deal. We waited two and half hours for the only finance *************** available. 9:30-10:00pm he does not diligently go over the deal.**** knew we were unsure about this deal. We did not drive off with the vechicle listed on the contract. they loaned us a loner and told us to keep our current truck there at the dealer ship so nothing happens to us.07/25/2024 I throughly go through paper work and notice that we cannot afford the truck. I go back to the dealer ship and tell ***** we cant follow through, ***** brings ***************************** and he tells me its a done deal we signed paper work and that we own the new vechicle now since the bank first technology federal credit union submitted payment already. I said we have not drove the vechicle off the lot yet, and theres no way the bank paid you 72,000$ in less than 8 hours. ********* brings in *****. They refused to give me back my trade in vehicle. They insisted I take my new truck and leave. I felt like ***** treated me poorly and discriminated against me because I asked him to go over the financing once more, he told me if I knew how to read and how come I dont understand the words written down. At this point Im offended and I told him I just want to unwind the deal.. this is very possible the dealership can cancel the contract it says so in the documents I signed. I called the bank and they have no record of a new auto loan for me. They are lying about receiving payment for the new vechicles and they wont return my trade in. I have not revived tags, license plate, or made my first payment. They refuse to take off all the add ons and warrenty. How is the deal done in 8 hours when no payment has been made?Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. Arizona does not support a buyers remorse period of time for buying a car. However, the dealership does offer a 3 day exchange policy to promote customer service. The customer was offered to look at other vehicles, and ultimately kept the same truck. Our records show the vehicle was titled and registered properly on August 15th.

I bought a used car & was told the car was all serviced with not issues. I bought it on May 29th. Was told they would fix anything if I had an issue. My cat died on the way home & had to have it towed as the transmission light was on. They received the car from AAA on Friday before opening. The service ***** said they would check it out. Did not hear from them so I called Saturday & was told they could not look at it till Monday due to holiday. Monday came & ***** called & asked me what happened & they would check it out & call me back. No call back so I called on ************ picked up & asked me to hold. He knew it was me calling. He hung up instead & never called me back again. I called on Wednesday & left another message with no reply. He called me on Thursday & said the transmission was blown. I told him I was told my car would get fixed. I told him I could not afford to fix it as I am on a fixed budget. When I bought it they knew I could not afford more than a $200 a month payment. They sold it to me with the loan amount I could afford. The know on Friday when it was towed in that the transmission was gone as the tow truck driver informed them it would not go in reverse or drive. I dont want the vehicle as I cannot afford a transmission. They can replace it & resell it again to someone else. I want them to take it back. They played me for a week. The service ***** treated me bad. No one has called me since as I left the salesman a message also. I want them to take it back as I cannot afford it.Business Response

In went into **** Mitsubishi April 24th to trade in my car with my mother who was also trading in her vehicle for a car as well. We worked with one Salesman ****** ****** he did both of our trade ins and both deals with the help of a finance guy that was sending him in with different finance deals and finally were told They got us approved they told us the amount our car notes would be and then when we signed agreeing that the amount was fine. He told us to sign off on our trade to get everything squared away so we did. The finance guy who continues to tell us hes the best in the finance business they can get deals with all of the banks and they just got us a sweet deal and he knows were in a rush he said h*** sign off on the last forms for us because we had been sitting so long and they want to get us out and in our car. So I took my car to the dealership 2 times because the car was driving weird the second time taking it a guy name ***** **** told me that my loan wasnt approved and for a week straight told me they would get me approved and then tells me that I was denied and ****** switched my trade in with my moms to get her approved for her loan. So I asked since my loan was denied I need my *** back he goes oh no you get the check for your moms car because ****** switch the Trades to get mommy approved. At no point would I had agreed to this ever because it sounds sketchy. DJ asked well what if he did tell you about it and said youre mommy wouldnt have gotten her car? I told him then she would have went elsewhere and he goes oh yea well your car got your moms car you will get a check for the car your mom traded in which is $3000 and my *** was over $25000 they scammed me out of my *** which was paid off in full when I purchased it now they wont give me back my trade in because they scan fraudulently switched the trades to get my mommy approved so now shes in a new car and Im car less. But I have attorneys looking into it Im suing!Business Response

******* ******* willingly signed all documents acknowledging that she was using her mothers trade in on her transaction. She also willingly signed the title docs for her vehicle to be used toward her mother's transaction. While we are disappointed that she was unable to acquire financing for her vehicle, we are willing to try again. We have been trying to reach ******* by phone and email multiple times without any reply.Customer Answer
Date: 01/30/2025
That is not true. They told me that I was signing the agreement for the zero down payment and I signed for my car the 2023 Kia ******* to be traded in not my mother's car. The guy that was helping my mom and I, had us go to sign some final papers and then the finance manager said he would finish signing for us because my 3 year old was acting out. He insisted saying " I will sign the last couple of signatures, its nothing important, it's the same stuff I went over with your mom" and then he proceeded to tell us how we can order his book he wrote & he signed the forms and said we were done. When I asked the ****** *** if he was supposed to sign for me he said it's fine we do it all the time you signed the most important form and walked us out. The deal never went though they got 2 cars out of us and Then refused to give me my car back they were so rude and disrespectful. Every time I told them They're supposed to give me my ******* back that little man DJ kept saying "Well if we didn't switch the cars then your mom wouldn't be in a car, you wouldn't want that right?" They haven't reached out to me at all my phone number has been the same for over 5 years and I have not one email from those people. They put me in a loaner car and gave me the run around for 2 weeks and then refused to give me my down payment back because I didn't clean the raggedy car they loaned me, I even had to complain a few days after that the car drove weird and the crack in the windshield was getting worst, he said it's a loaner its ok. I cleaned out that car but then were so rude when I asked for my down payment back. They are liars and unprofessional I would never purchase a car from there or refer anyone to them.Business Response
