Stefon with summit recovery services called from ************ and stated that I took out a payday loan for $450.76 from a company called EZ Pay back in June of 2019. When I asked him why they hadnt sent me any bills he said they had and that I hadnt responded. I also asked if this would report to my credit since its been nearly 5 years and he said it would if they didnt get payment. Ive never received the first bill from this company and I checked my bank statements from May-August of 2019 and there is no deposit for the amount of $450.76 from anyone. He said the balance now with all fees was over $1,300 but he would settle for $750.46. I asked him if I could pay on their website and he said I could. He gave me a generic site www.summitrecoveryservices.com and only the last 4 of my account # **** and said thats all I would need to pay which seemed odd. And he also said I could pay by phone but only with a debit or credit card. Then he said they could do a payment plan if I couldnt pay it all and I should call him back at ********************. And I know the 844 area code is used for scams. What concerns me is the fact that he had the last 4 of my ssn. And Ive only got one bank account that money goes into and like I said, no deposits were made from anyone but my employer. Ive not paid this company any money and I dont plan to. The claim that I owe for this loan is fraudulent. Theyve called me twice in 2 days and I want this stopped.
