I scheduled an appointment to get a quote for roll out shelves. *** showed up at the exact time I told him I was not available. He then raced through what the drawers would be and set the install appointment. He requires a 50% down payment in cash/check only which is a RED FLAG that I ignored. No legitimate business requires up front money, especially in cash. He cashed my check the day I gave it to him. ANOTHER RED FLAG. I called back before my install to confirm they rollers would be slow close just as all of my other drawers in my high end kitchen are. He tried to talk me out of them and I explained they needed to match the quality of my current cabinetry. He said it will cost another $160 for slow close which I was fine with. His installer came out, drilled holes in all of my existing cabinets and shelves and when I tested them and had to force them closed, I said this is not acceptable. I specifically asked for high end roll out shelves that should function the same as my current drawers. The installer said he would take them back and see if he could change to an undercount and let me know. *** then called me and said they don't do under mount and argued with me about refunding the deposit I gave him because he "made the custom shelves" and had to pay his installer, gas, etc. I suggested he write off the business expense because I am not satisfied with the quality of work. He told me he would refund half of my money if I found someone else to install other shelves? I have no idea how this made any sense and not relevant to our transaction. After receiving other quotes, I called *** back and asked him to please refund my money, otherwise I would be forced to file complaints to get my refund. He told me I can take him to small claims court if I wanted my money back and hung up. STAY AWAY, NEVER MAKE UP FRONT PAYMENTS TO ANY COMPANY!!
