    I leased a house from Metropolitan Real Estate beginning in December 2020 and ending in June 2022. I recorded the damage going into the house at the beginning of the lease and the damage at the end of the lease. The only issue was a tree that had overgrown in that time. The leasing company kept my deposit and sent me an invoice for additional fees. I responded to the given address with the time frame given, specifically 15 days out of 30, with proof the charges were fraudulent. Metropolitan Real Estate never responded. I received notice from B ********************* that proceedings had begun to file paperwork at court. I called and negotiated a settlement, which they said would clear the debt. I paid and they sent me a letter stating the same on September 29, 2022. On November 5, 2022 Metropolitan Real Estate sent another email stating that I now owed them $889.27. This company is predatory at best.

    If I can rate this place NOTHING I would. Whatever you do, run far away from this company if you value your money. I rented from this company years ago, 2013 to 2017. I was advised against it by the agent at the time but I really loved the home. When we moved we got told we owed about 3 grand in damages. I was mind blown because when we left, nothing equaled to it. Sure we had some things that we didn't do, like the yard work. We didn't cut the grass before we left and a few blind shads needed replacing to why I was ok for them to take the deposit. But more than that?? Especially since we repoted multiple things wrong through the years we lived there, that was out of our control and normal wear and tear. We lived there for 4 years, things were bond to need repaired. We always went through their portal they had as advised. For them to say the wear *** tear was our fault is crazy. We left the house **** near the same from when we moved in. Just not the couple things I stated. They have you send a hand written note to why you don't feel like you shouldn't pay the damages they listed and we did. At the time of us leaving, they were in the middle of going through different management because of how horrible it was ran. So more so we got stuck paying damages we didn't do nor found fair. We never heard back after the hand letter and 7 years later we find out they declined it when our checks were being garnished. They stated they served us to go to court, but they served a disabled person who had no idea what was going on. Only found this out because we had to go to the courts that granted the judgement to see who was served. Now I'm in the market to buy and if they handled things differently I would of been happy to go through this company. I will make sure to tell everyone I can to never go through this company! I will keep spreading this around to every place and person I can until they make this right. 2 grand in damages that we didn't deserve to pay.
