I am thoroughly disappointed with SGI Property Management Company and feel compelled to share my frustrating experience.

Firstly, they failed to return my full security deposit in the amount of $1,995 and instead charged me an outrageous $500 for a paint touchup. This charge is completely unjustified and exorbitant for what should be a routine part of property maintenance. It’s clear that they are exploiting tenants by overcharging for basic services that should be their responsibility.

Moreover, I was billed $80 for unclogging a drain that was never even used during my tenancy. This is a clear indication that SGI Property Management is not above inventing issues to extract money from their tenants. It’s incredibly frustrating to be charged for problems that simply did not exist.

Adding insult to injury, they charged me $20 for replacing a smoke alarm battery. This is a trivial task that should be included in their regular maintenance routine, not something tenants should be burdened with financially. It’s just another example of their nickel-and-diming tactics.

The most egregious charge, however, was $220 for removing oil stains in the garage and driveway. These stains existed prior to my move in, minimal and could have been easily cleaned with basic household products. Also, my husband and I have new vehicles that do not leak any oil. Yet, SGI Property Management saw this as another opportunity to unfairly charge me.

SGI Property Management's behavior is completely unacceptable and feels like a blatant attempt to withhold as much of the deposit as possible through inflated and unnecessary charges. Their practices are unethical, and they clearly prioritize their own profit over fair treatment of tenants.

In summary, my experience with SGI Property Management has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their exorbitant and unjustified charges, coupled with their lack of transparency and integrity.

I am not satisfied with the response given from SGI property management. There has been no communication from them. The property manager never informed me that she received the security deposit refund form. Also the property manager never informed me that she submitted the form to the review committee. After paying $4,200 up front to vacate the property, I deserve my full security deposit back and they have failed to do so. A response from them should not require 10 business days considering all of the hard work I put into cleaning the property and ensuring that it is in excellent condition after vacating.

I do not consider this case closed. I have asked SGI property management for a receipt for the $500 paint touch up that I am still being charged. I have asked for the receipt on multiple occasions and they will not provide this important information to me. I do not believe that a paint touch costs $500. I need a receipt.
