I am filing this complaint regarding a serious lack of communication and unresolved issues with Sweet James, my accident attorney. I was rear-ended in a car accident, and the at-fault drivers insurance company, ********, issued a settlement check in the amount of $27,500 to Sweet James back in March 2024. I received confirmation of this directly from ******** via a letter.Despite this, my attorney continues to tell me that it will be months before I receive my portion of the settlement. I have received no clear timeline, explanation of delays, or meaningful updates. I have made multiple attempts to get information, but responses are vague or delayed.What makes this situation especially urgent and distressing is that I am currently homeless and have no money. I hired sweet James for my auto accident which I was involved in. I have gone to numerous doctors and have sought numerous treatments for my pain. My treatments have ended two months ago but they have yet to submit my case to the insurance company for a possible settlement. The paralegal, Jade, keep coming up with excuses after excuses every time I call her about the status of my case and the reason for the delay. One time she says she had a busy week, another time she said she only worked half a day. Now she is saying she submitted my case to the attorney for review BUT she submitted several case at the same time so that’s why it’s taking a long time. I don’t know what to believe anymore. this business is very shady. They called me today supposedly trying to give me good news and said the insurance company has offered to settle in full. BUT, there’s a catch, I won’t see any money until like 3-4 MONTHS down the line. AND, thus far they have not even provided the release for me to sign. I Had An Accident On September 10 ***** . I Hired Sweet James To Take My Case So They Did. The Case Was Settled And The Check Was Giving To The Lawyer On December 23, 2024. I Was Then Told I Would Receive Payment In 90 To 120 Days . I Was Calling And Leaving Messages And No one Was Responding They Are Very Bad In Communication You Get None At All From Them They Keep You In The Dark And Keep Giving You The Run Around!They Waited Until January 28 For Me To Sign Paperwork For The Release !! And Now They Are Saying That My 90 To 120 Days Dont Start Until January ******************************************* ******* I Wouldnt Recommend Them To My Worst Enemy!! My accident injury claim was settled on the 12 of January 2025, it has been nearly a month and I have not received my check in the mail, I have called them nearly 5 times to follow up and every time I get the run arounds, they claim they forgot to send it out twice, Im placed on hold indefinitely or they promise to call back and they do not. I got in a car accident April of 2023, when i first called, the receptionist told me they'd charge 3 to 4% and it turned out to be 30 to 40%. on top of that I an not even getting 60% of the settlement. Sweet James accident attorneys were attained by me in December 2023 for an accident I was involved in with my son. Another cars driver that was intoxicated running a light ending in hitting us totaling car. My case is in litigations now and was given a deadline time for completion which has now come and gone. I call every day to the office hoping to get to speak with ********************* but only get put through to her voicemail to leave another message for her to call me. I have not heard back from anyone at the office in over two weeks now. I feel like when my number calls they know its me and just refuse answering call. This is utterly ridiculous now and they have already been given a check from AAA for the accident I was involved in.They wont return my calls and are in other wards withholding my awarded money!I would of got different representation if I knew they were doing business like this, never getting to speak to anyone and no calls back ever.Business Response

I have been trying to contact sweet James accident attorneys about my case because there is things wrong with the settlement on there part. When I called today at 2pm I was told I would get a call back today at 4pm, how is my case to be handled at 4pm when business are usually closed at that time. This is utterly ridiculous of them and Im getting real tired of the way they handle there business with there clients who are paying for there services. This is the second time now *** had to make a complaint on there business because of there ethics. Im totally unhappy with Sweet James accident attorneys law practice and wish I had gone elsewhere for the help with my case. Its been very frustrating dealing with them it seams more now that they have to pay out on my case, which is utterly ridiculous of them in the way there doing business especially with there client's. In May of 2023 my wife and I were in a not at fault car accident, hir from behind. Our car was totaled and both of us were injured. That night we called Sweet James, we asked what the fees were and told 33 1/3 rd and that include any fees. We said our car was totaled and we needed to rent. We were told our car would be replaced and the rental would be paid for from "pain and suffering." All of this was false. After 100 day the percentage went to 40%, the car was not replaced and the rental was not reimbursed and there was no "pain and suffering" money involved. When we inquired about the changed percentage we were told by "*****" that the fee was causing confusion with customer and they just settled on a 40% flat fee, he did say they we hired them when it was still 33 1/3rd but after 100 days it still goes to 40% and that it was in the contract emailed. That is not what they told us when we called to hire them nor do I recall that contract we signed. We were also in fact charged "case costs" of approx $3400 total. What we are asking for is our "case costs" refunded, we are also asking for the difference from 33 1/3 and 40% refunded back to us. Even to the day of this writing if you call they will tell you the fee is 33 1/3 and that includes all fees.Business Response

On February 6th, 2023 I was involved in a motor vehicle accident through no fault of my own. I was injured, with a broken rib, several large contusions and bruised lungs. My wife contacted Sweet James LLC for guidance while I was in the hospital being treated for my injuries. Initially I thought they were very quick with their responses. Getting a contract signed only took a matter of hours for them to secure a contingent of 37% of the insurance pay out. As I had never been in a serious motor vehicle accident I wanted to ensure that all of the medical bills and repair bills were processed thoroughly and completely.I was asked to submit all bills I was provided with during the course of the next few months. I did so on multiple occasions, not because I receieved new bills; but because the Sweet James LLC representative repeatedly lost or transferred my case to different representatives within the firm. In total I turned in my bills on 3 seperate occasions making sure to tell them that I had 2 seperate ambulance transports. After the insurance settlement in August of 2023 I recieved a notification from *** ambulance in October 2023 indicating I had an outstanding bill for nearly 800$. As Sweet James was responsible for obtaining the bill (*** refused to provide it to me when requested and stated my insurance company would handle it) I contacted Sweet James and made them aware of the outstanding bill. I was told by a James Rush that he would look into it and "Get it taken care of". Then in January 2024 I received another notification stating I was being sent to collections for the ambulance transports. I again contacted Sweet James and they indicated they had no idea what I was talking about. I spoke with their Director of Operations ***** who told me they would pay it and she would get back with me within 3 days. I didnt hear from her for several weeks. I was contacted by a different attorney and was told it was not their responsibility.Business Response
