I will update this review once something finally happens but as of now I am not impressed at all with how they are handling my claim, communication is nonexistent, my adjuster refuses to communicate via email and doesnt answer my calls, theres no way of checking the status of my claim or anything of the sort, I paid for the increased insurance and only 1 thing broke, I dont understand why Im getting the run around for something so simple, avoid renting from U-Haul so you can avoid this ****, and Repwest if you read this, DO BETTER

This company is ridiculous. They are not here to help resolve any issues. I filed a claim due to U-Haul damaging my vehicle from a wiring kit they installed. I gave them all the information needed but was still told to go pay for a diagnostic for damages I didnt cause. In addition I was originally told by my adjuster that I would be reimbursed, then she switched to say in probably wont be guaranteed . They are not in favor of the customers who file the claim . If U-Haul doesnt want to be liable for the damages that they in fact caused , theyll send a statement indicating it was the customers fault. That is what this ********************************************* will go with and that is what is going on with my claim. This whole experience has been disappointing. The adjuster(s) are rude when I have been expressing my concerns. My car is breaking down and I have not gotten the proper help or anything fixed.I will never use U-Haul or this insurance company ever again. Beyond unacceptable, terrible company.

Hello Mr. ******** .......Please note this is a Duplicate to Negative BBB Review ******* of which we responded, and we have also provided the BBB with a formal Complaint Response on this matter, so we hope they've shared with you our communications. We advised that U-Haul is SELF-INSURED, which means that U-Haul affords the future financial risks from their own pocket each time their equipment is entrusted to a customer. There is no bond nor policy for liability insurance provided by Repwest. Therefore, U-Haul reserves the right to do business at their discretion based on certain risk factors like prior rental transaction and claim history. Due to the circumstances involved in the rental history and corresponding 2021 claim, U-Haul elected to place you on E-Alert preventing future equipment rentals, We have since confirmed with U-Haul E-Alert management regarding your concerns for desire to rent again to see if U-Haul would like to remove the E-Alert, however, U-Haul has confirmed that the E-Alert will remain in place. While we know this is not the update you hoped for, please know there are many cost-effective rental equipment options through other retailers.... Thank you sincerely for understanding, Repwest Complaints Liaison

Hello Mr. ******** I have received your posted concerns here and was able to locate your related claim history with the name and email address that you provided, thank you. Please note that U-Haul is a SELF-INSURED entity/company. There is no bond nor policy provided by Repwest Insurance Company, as we are only the claims handler for U-Haul. As U-Haul affords the future financial risks from their own pocket each time their equipment is rented to a customer, U-Haul reserves the right to do business at their discretion based on certain risk factors like prior claim history. Accordingly, while we understand your frustrations of desire to rent again, only U-Haul has the final say as to any E-Alert preventing rental transactions. To discuss the matter further with U-Haul Customer *********************** you can reach them at **************. Thank you sincerely, Repwest Complaints Liaison

RepWest is a SCAM! RepWest, owned by *****'s parent company, refuses to ethically consider cases and ONLY sides with Uhaul. They will ignore your calls, ignore your emails, ignore your evidence, and call you to tell you they denied your claim 6 weeks later. They will idiotically tell you on a recorded phone call they didn't look at your evidence, denied it to "protect [Uhaul's] employees", and invite you to appeal their denial with your "new evidence" (submitted months ago) afterward. A $54.95 trailer is not worth the 3 months of lies, gaslighting, improper maintenance and negligence causing you thousands in property damage that they won't reimburse. They will try every trick in the book to get you to walk away with an unfairly denied claim. Despicable, unethical, and illegal business practices, and I hope these "people" are kept up at night thinking about the thousands or millions of people they s**** over.

Buyer Beware: Repwest Insurance engages in deceptive business practices and I urge anyone looking into purchasing their insurance to read the warnings on this platform that I unfortunately didn't look at prior to purchase. I purchased insurance through U-Haul to cover damages during a residential move. I bought it for both packing and unpacking and loading and unloading. Despite paying for coverage and providing substantial evidence of damage to my property including photos, documentation, and a clear timeline my claim was denied. They told me that the coverage did not include packing and unpacking even though I was able to purchase it specifically for that since I hired movers to pack my items and was worried about how they might be packed. They also said that the movers denied causing the damage, and Repwest accepted their statement without conducting a meaningful investigation or considering the documentation I submitted. This approach renders the insurance ineffective and misleading to consumers who purchase it expecting actual protection. The claim was handled by ******* *******, who led me through a prolonged and burdensome process over several weeks, requesting additional materials and follow-ups, only to ultimately deny the claim with no reasonable basis. The process was unnecessarily drawn out and felt designed to discourage resolution.Upon further research, I found that numerous other customers have reported similar experiences, indicating a potential pattern of unfair claim denials and misleading practices. Consumers deserve better protection, transparency, and accountability particularly from an insurer tied to a national company like U-Haul.I am pursuing this matter further with the ************************ and urge Repwest to review its internal policies and provide restitution for improperly denied claims.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Business. They should be shut down immediately. Shame on U-Haul for using them as their insurance company. They never sent me my check in the mail for damages, I called the phone number and it went to a scammer who tried to steal my banking info. Repwest didn't do anything about it and then they sent me a new check to a wrong address. Can't get a hold of anyone over the phone or email. Please shut them down.

Hello Ms. ********** I received notice of your posted concerns, and I was able to locate the claim file with the name and email address that you provided, thank you. I will do my best to address your concerns.... I see that this claim was reported on 5/19/25, advising that on 5/18/25 a rented U-Haul vehicle was turning into a gas station and struck your vehicle. The assigned claim adjuster promptly completed the investigation and issued your vehicle damages payment only 9-days after the loss to the Georgia mailing address that was on file, via postal mail. When we received notice that the check was lost in the mail as never received, we promptly issued a new check - however, the prior mailing address you moved from in ************ was selected in clerical error for the mailing. We apologize for that inconvenience. Per your recent conversation with the Claims Manager, the check has since requested a stop on that check and once processed it will be correctly reissued again to the Georgia address. Please allow for adequate processing time for the bank to advise us that the check-stop system process is completed. And once the check is issued, please allow for 10 business-days for postal mail delivery as the checks issue from our corporate headquarters in *******************************. Due to the delay inconvenience, you were offered a $250 VIP Certificate to use for future U-Haul business.... Regarding the phone call concern, it sounds as though our phone number was inadvertently misdialed, and it is indeed an unfortunate and unforeseen circumstance to have an experience with a scammer. However, please note that Repwest has no control over those type of matters. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please call us at **************. You can feel free to speak with the Claims Manager, **** *******, at extension # ******. Thank you for allowing us to assist you..... Sincerely, Complaints Liaison, Repwest Insurance Company

This company should be illegal. A person driving a UHAUL van damaged my car and the insurance coverage from RepWest was a disaster from the start. I am now three weeks and waiting to get my car back from the shop because they sent an estimate that the shop owner says was written by someone who "does not know what they are doing" and then the coverage is so subpar and their responses so spotty and delayed that my insurance has to come into play to make up for their "underinsured" nonesense and another set of appraisers must go to the shop. I am looking at weeks without a vehicle, a rental that RepWest refuses to cover after saying they would, and hundreds in deductible for my own insurance coverage. If you get hit by a UHAUL driver, good luck to you. Just be prepared to be further harmed by this "insurance" company.

Hello Ms. ********* I have received notice of your posted concerns here and I was able to locate your claim file with the name and email address that you provided. I will do my best to provide a status on this matter... Please note, Repwest Insurance Company handles the claims for U-Haul, who is a SELF-INSURED entity/company. We handle claims under the minimum financial responsibility (MFR) limits of each state jurisdiction where the loss occurred. In the State of ********* there is a $10K Property Damage Limit...... I see that this claim was reported to Repwest on 5/27/25, advising that a rented U-Haul vehicle side-swiped your personal vehicle. The handling adjuster began the investigation, which included obtaining statement from U-Haul Driver/Lessee, statement from Claimant, obtaining copy of Police Report, receive damage supports of Estimate and Photos, process Desk Review of Estimate, and receive proof of vehicle ownership. The initial check based on Desk Review Estimate was issued to you on 6/5/25 in the amount of $5,855.14. On 6/6/25, we received contact from your Auto Shop that once they tore the vehicle down but they believed there was additional damage that required an in-person inspection, so we assigned an in-person inspection to be conducted for review of the vehicle's supplement conditions. On 6/13/25, we were notified that the Supplemental damage puts the claim cost over the NY MFR limit of $10K. We notified the other carrier, GEICO, regarding the $10K coverage limit, and on 6/13/25 we sent a Settlement Release Agreement to Ms. ******** pending signature so that we could issue the supplement payment. On 6/18/25, we received your signed executed Settlement Release Agreement, and accordingly we have processed the supplement payment of $4,144.86. Please allow for up to 72-business hours for accounting department processing time to issue your check. Once the check is issued, please allow for up to ***** business days for postal mail delivery. I hope this summary and status has been helpful regarding your concerns for delay and payment. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to your handling claim adjuster as they can best assist you.... Sincerely, Complaints Liaison, Repwest Insurance Company

Hello Mr. ******* I have received notice of your posted concerns here and I was able to locate your claim file with the name and email address that you provided. I will do my best to provide clarification on your concerns... Please be advised, Repwest Insurance Company handles the claims on behalf of U-Haul, a Self-Insured entity/company. Repwest Insurance Company also handles the claims for any Safe protection product.... I confirm that I see your relocation move across a few states consisted of renting a U-Haul Trailer, in which you elected to purchase the optional SafeTow protection. Regarding the damages claim, you advised your handling claim adjuster that you upon unload of your belongings from the Trailer, you noticed damages to many items and you believed the cargo damages occurred as shifting in-transit. As detailed in the U-Haul Rental Contract Addendum Document Holder provided at the point-of-sale, the products of SafeMove and/or SafeTow protection provide Cargo coverage in the event of a Collision, Fire or Overturn of the equipment. Listed within the Certificate of Insurance for SafeMove and/or SafeTow are the following Exclusions to coverage, which state: - "SAFEMOVE and/or SAFETOW CARGO PROTECTION EXCLUSIONS: This Certificate does not cover, any loss or damage caused or sustained wholly or partly, directly, or indirectly: C. By improper packing, or stowage, rough handling, leakage, breakage, shifting of Cargo, marring, scratching, dampness of atmosphere, dryness of atmosphere, changes of temperature, bacteria, shrinkage, evaporation, *************** rust contamination, changes in flavor or color or texture or finish, unless loss or damage is caused directly by collision, fire, lightning, named windstorm, hail, explosion, riot or civil commotion, flood, vandalism or malicious mischief" - ............ As noted above, loss due to "improper packing/shifting of cargo" is specifically Excluded from protection. And as no event of Collision, Fire or Overturn of the equipment occurred, we had to respectfully decline your claim for damages. However, if you have any additional documentation that you believe would affect our decision, please forward it to your handling claim adjuster for further review and consideration. You also have the right to contact your personal insurance carrier to see if there is potentially available coverage for your belongings under your Homeowner's or Renter's policy... I hope this clarification has been helpful and we thank you for allowing us the opportunity to provide clarification on this matter. Sincerely, Complaints Liaison, Repwest Insurance Company

At no point did I ever state it was my fault. I told the agent, akee that I had everything strapped two feet with chalk lines and nothing shifted. I was run off the road by a truck in ******* and he refused to even hear me, sent me a denial immediately. I had my IT department at my military base find the ceos email and I emailed him last night and I am fully ready to contact the news, and counsel.

Hello Mr. ******* I received notice of your 6/9 rebuttal regarding additional concerns regarding the circumstances of how your items were damaged and how it relates to potential coverage. Thank you for reaching out allowing us the opportunity to assist you. I see that on that same day 6/9, you were able to speak with the claim adjuster's Supervisor to explain your position that although there was no collision, you were cut-off by a big rig causing you to go off the road. I see that you also discussed with Supervisor regarding obtaining an Estimate so that we can conduct a second review of the matter, and he sent you an Email so that you can either respond directly to him, or you can upload the Estimate online: **************************************************************** ....Please include your Claim # with upload of documents. Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to discuss your claim matter further. Please reach out to the claim Supervisor with any further questions or concerns so that he can best assist you. I had my storage broken into at the end of the year 2024 while out of state. When returning and realizing I had items stolen and damaged by the break in I filed a claim and made police report. I was informed that a check was being issued for my items. After waiting a month for payment that was said to been mailed, I received nothing. After talking to my claim rep. **** cancelled the payment an reissued another payment on May 5th an still have not received my payment. I don't see how it could take a month on the mail. It just doesn't take that long. I'm in ********** and payment was mailed from Arizona???. Something is not rite an someone at rep **** is lieing about issuing me payment.

Hello Ms. ******** I received notice of your posted concerns, and I was able to locate your claim file with the name and email address that you provided, thank you. I see that you have been in active communication with your handling claim adjuster over concerns that the payment issued was lost in the Postal Mail, and the adjuster had confirmed with you that the mailing address was indeed correct. I see that recently the adjuster spoke with you again to confirm options of payments and you elected to have the check cancelled and re-issued, as well as verified again the mailing address is correct. The check has since been reissued. Please allow 10 to 14 business days for Postal Mail Delivery. Thank you sincerely, Complaints Liaison, Repwest Insurance Company
