    Our garage door remotes, wall panel were not working and the light bulb was not working either. It is a genie opener - approx 6 years old. I booked an appointment for 12/27/24 - they said it would be $59 for a service call. Their tech came out on time and told us he had no experience with Genie openers. He called someone to help him with the light bulb and was not able to fix that. He then phoned someone about the wall panel and couldn't fix that either. He told us that it was the board in the opener and he could not fix it. He told us we needed a completely new opener and tried to sell us on a LiftMaster w/quotes of $1300 to $1800! So, we paid $59 for him to come out and quote us on an exorbitantly costed opener. After doing some research and contacting other companies, I found others that were MUCH cheaper. I then found a garage door repairman that came out and fixed our genie opener (not replacing the board). He fixed the light, fixed the wall panel and got the remotes working. He even threw in a used opener that he only charged $20 for. In total, we paid $110 for the repair which included a tune-up. It is quite evident that Garage Door Grunts does not have technicians that know how to fix Genie garage door openers. They should've asked me what type of opener I had prior to coming out and they should've sent someone that could repair it. I am now out $59 for a service call that netted me nothing. I hate dealing with companies that have no integrity and don't take care of the customer.
