I set up pest control services with Overson in June of 2022. In March of ***************************************************************************************************************** pay a cancellation fee. This was news to me; I was not aware of signing a binding contract. If I had verbally been told that this was a yearly contract for which I was obligated, if I canceled early or pay a cancellation fee, I would never have signed up with this company. To my knowledge it was a month-to-month service agreement. They would not honor my wishes to cancel the service. I decided to put a stop payment on the March withdrawl because it is set up on auto payment. They have continued to charge my debit card since then.I contacted them several times but most recently around July 17, when they charged my card again. They did refund this one but at this point I believe they owe me money because I have had no pest control services since Jan/Feb. I have gone around and around with this company, speaking to various people over the phone but to no avail. I have asked them to cancel my account several times.I just got a new bill from them for August pest control service (again no service since Jan/Feb. I am afraid that they will send this to collections if I don't pay it.I have contemplated as to what to do, but I believe there is some unethical business practice going on when they do not make clear that you are signing up for a binding contract. Now with receiving a new bill in August even after I have repeatedly (since March) requested this service to be canceled. I sincerely believe they owe me money, although they give various reasons as to why I owe them money because of some contract with a gotcha clause!I would like to see a refund of at least 2 payments of $44.50 and for them to finally close my account!I don't even live there anymore.Thank you.Business response

I just got off the phone with ******* and after reviewing her account, we have agreed to her request. We will be refunding $89 and are waiving the cancellation fee. We apologize for the lack of clarity by our sales representative and have rectified this for the future. We wish you the best into the future *******!

In 2021 a salesman went to my rental property at 416 S ****** and initiated a bi-monthly contract for pest control with the tenant. The salesman filled out the contract in my name, and the tenant signed it. Now, the tenant has moved on and overson insists that I am responsible to complete the contract or pay the $100 cancelation fee. I contend they do not have a valid contract since I did not agree to the service and did not sign the contract.Business response

Hello Better Business Bureau and ********-
There seems to be a discrepancy because the person that filled out the agreement used ********** name and also had her credit card. There was a deception, it sounds like, on the part of the tenant who somehow had the credit card of the landlord. This is definitely a first for us. In order to resolve this case we will waive the $100 cancellation fee and agree to not report negatively to the credit bureaus. We wish this customer the best in the future.

They have not spray my home for 4 months and charge me for them months they took 217 and 50 cents for the month of July so when I call them up to cancel there business they are going to charge me 50 dollar cancel fee and I don't see why I have to pay that when they charge me 227 dollar and 50 cents I want that money put back in my bank account and not be charge 50 dollar for a cancel fee that is not right and I have people that will back me up on this my neighbors told me that out of them 3 months they never seen the ******* pest control come out and there is alway someone at my place and if they sprayed why am I getting spiders and other bugs inside my home I just want that money back and they can wave them cancel fee's please help me get money back thank youBusiness response

Hello BBB and ********************. The money collected in July was for delinquent payments on services previously rendered. We had paused service until the account was caught up on payments. When ******************** called in, his account was about to go to collections. After talking to him, we waived $40 worth of late fees to make sure he would be happy moving forward. Unfortunately, he ended up canceling service before his agreement had expired and with that came a $50 cancellation fee. We are willing to waive the $50 back to him, and it will be submitted for refund today. Please allow 3-5 business days and the money will be back in his account. We hope the $50 refund plus the previous $40 worth of late fees will make him happy and wish him well in the future. Thanks!
