    Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against a technician named ************************* regarding an incomplete service on my 2012 Prius.On 07/09/2024, ****************** arrived at my residence around 10:30 AM to program a new key for my vehicle, as I had lost the original key. After approximately 30 minutes, he informed me that while the key was programmed, it was not functioning correctly. I paid him $160 for the key at that time. He assured me he would return at 6 PM to resolve the issue.When he returned in the evening, he spent another 30 minutes working on the car but was still unable to fix the problem. He requested an additional $20 for the programming, which I paid, bringing the total to $180. He claimed that the issue was not related to the key.Subsequently, I contacted another technician who fixed the issue in less than 20 minutes. This technician confirmed that the problem was with the key. He provided a new key, which resolved the issue, and I paid him $200 for his successful service. The second technician also provided me with a receipt for his work.I contacted ****************** to inform him of the situation and requested a refund for the incomplete service. However, he refused to refund the amount, insisting that he had programmed the key correctly, despite the key not working.Given the circumstances, I am requesting assistance from the BBB to resolve this matter and obtain a refund of $180 from ****************** for the incomplete service. I have attached a video that clearly shows the key was not working and a copy of the receipt from the other technician.Thank you for your attention to this complaint.

    *****, the owner, came out approximately three months ago to replace a key that my mechanic had lost while servicing my car. He took full payment and said he can only give me a temporary key that does not work with all of the features of my car but it would start the vehicle. He promised to drop off the correct key once he got it in and programmed. He has scheduled numerous times and never shown up and now refuses to take my phone call. This young man is a complete thief.
