I was recommended to take my dog to the hospital and request X-rays and bloodwork. Two doctors at Power Road Animal Hospital confirmed with x-rays that she had a blockage in her stomach. The vet advised that if the surgery was not performed, the blockage could potentially move into her bowels and cause further complications. Despite my dog having an enlarged heart, which they found during the x-ray, the vets strongly advised the surgery. I was informed by my primary vet days prior it was unsafe to put her under anesthesia with the murmur even just for a teeth cleaning. One of the vets (******) even mentioned that if it were her own dog, she would proceed with the surgery. However, after the surgery, I was informed that there was actually no blockage. The invoice was modified from gastronomy to an "exploratory surgery and my access to the original document in my email history was replaced with a ************************************************************************************** it would risk my dogs life by not doing this surgery. After requesting my dogs health records and reviewing them I noted that the hospital had been negligent by recording false notes and leaving out important health information (the heart murmur and enlarged heart). My dog is currently in the healing process, but I still have no answers as to why she became ill and was told my next option was to just monitor her. If my dogs health was at such risk to warrant surgery, why would it be acceptable for me to now just monitor her. I had to have someone else pick up my pet due to the hospital closing prior to myself getting off work. I was not able to review or sign the paperwork. Had I been able to question at the time I would have. These reasons lead me to believe the hospital was negligent in advising this surgery and negligent in the care of my pet. I have the invoices, the x-ray photo and the falsified history reports as evidence.
