I was quoted 6 hours to do a welding job that I needed done that required cutting a large upright JIB Crane I beam and it being welded back together and a bracket that needed fabricate and a part machined. *********************** a 17 year old kid showed up for work in a car the first day as he needed to pickup some metal I provided that the job required. Then he returned with a partially fabricated bracket to be welded in place and did not have a ladder and he did not provide his own power for the welding Job. He later returned back with the machined part that he insisted I needed to make bran new instead of using my old current pivot bracket. I asked him to check to make sure it fit which he said to me that his machinist knows what he is doing. I said there is no harm in making sure it fits first. When he checked the part did not fit. He had to take the part back to the machinist to fix the bad fabrication on his part since he should have welded the new bracket first before final inside diameter machining was done. The part was quoted to me at ****** initially and then he called and said the price was ****** now. I told him we agreed upon the ****** price he quoted for the new pivot bracket and 6 hours of labor at ***** per hour. He then told me that he would not be able to finish the job as he was taking a trip and would be gone for a few weeks. After he left he sent me a PayPal request for full payment of the job he did not complete. He then showed up after his trip in a few weeks and asked me at my door step for 1/2 payment since he had done half the work. I said no you either finish the job and I will pay you or you decide if you are not going to finish the job you are breaching the verbal agreement since ***** did not produce a written contract for work and present to me to sign. He then told me via text message he would be coming to finish the work. I told him to be here at 7am to start and finish the job and then I would pay him. He came to my address with a negative attitude and he cut my JIB crane into 3 pieces making the crane useless and refused to weld it back together as he verbally agreed to in the beginning. He also brought his dad with him that was hiding in the back of his dads pickup truck and when I told him he did not finish the job I told him to either finish the work or leave the job unfinished and I would hire a real welding/fabrication company to finish his unfinished work. His dad was all talk about being Godly and we should be calm and that we should go our seperate ways. He insisted that I pay the machinist fee of ****** and I said I was quoted ******. I paid him ****** cash and they agreed to leave and never return to my property ever again. I told his dad that he was raising a quitter for a Son and future businesman.
