We closed on our new build home in Quail Creek on Nov. 2, 2020. We had a number of warranty issues, all but one have been resolved. Our house is designed to provide a dramatic view of the golf course through our living room picture window. When the sun shines on the window, weird streaks appear. See the uploaded picture. We filed a warranty claim with Robson but all we got were delay tactics. Robson reps came out several times before the sun was shining on the window giving us excuses for not being able to inspect it later in the day. We finally got our customer service rep to get overtime approved to inspect it after 4 pm. He saw the streaks but explained that they were caused by light refraction so he could not authorize replacement of the window. Apparently we are supposed to believe that it’s the sun’s fault! The truth is something is causing sunlight to refract. Research tells me that large windows have to be made with tempered glass for safety reasons. Glass is cut to size, heated and then cooled to provide more strength. If the manufacturing process is not clean, fabricating debris can fuse to the glass when heated. This debris can later be dislodged and dragged across the glass leaving scratches. These scratches cause sunlight to refract. Our window was manufactured by Milguard and installed by its distributor, XO Windows. Before we took ownership of the house Robson had someone clean the entire house including all the windows. We believe it is Robson’s responsibility to replace our flawed and damaged window, but today they have refused.
