I purchased a home built by C3 Custom homes in February of 2024 for $620,000. My home is now 18 months old and having major repairs due to moisture problems and mold. 3 other homes so far in my neighborhood are having these same issues, all of the homes were built by C3. Multiple professionals have been to our home and all have said this is due to poor construction. C3 refuses to do anything about it because we are 6 months outside of our 1 year warranty. We are having to pay approximately $15k so far for repairs on a practically brand new home.

We did point out some discoloration in our flooring while C3 was there to do some other warranty work we were still under warranty, but it was not in writing.  We discovered over the weekend that 50% of the homes built by C3 in our neighborhood are having these same mold/moisture issues.  That is 8 houses so far.

    Business Response

    Hello,

We have been working with Mr. ***** on this issue. We have reimbursed him for the cost he initially paid to the restoration company (*** ******* **) as well as re-hiring the same company to complete more work in his house that he wanted us to take care of. With Mr. ***** not being under warranty we have completed the work that was deemed necessary per the inspection completed by the restoration company. If Mr. ***** would like more work completed he will need to hire a restoration company of his choosing to complete any more work on his own. At this time we have resolved any issues with moisture and the home has been completely remediated at no cost to Mr. *****.

    Thank you,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This issue has not been resolved.  C3 is working to remediate the issue, but we still have areas in our home where the drywall has been cut out, flooring has been removed, bathtub is disconnected and laying in the middle of the bathroom floor, there is still visible mold and moisture issues, and no one has been able to pinpoint the actual cause yet.  While we appreciate C3 working to fix these issues, I am not willing to say that the work has been completed because it has not.  I understand that this is going to take time and I am willing to be patient, but what ***** ****** said about the moisture issues being resolved and the home being completely remediated is absolutely not true.  I will attach photos of our bathroom.  We also have open walls in our master bedroom and dining room, and more moisture intrusion has been found in several other rooms in our home that C3 is currently addressing.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****
