I was involved in a traffic accident, so I did not get to choose which ambulance service was used. The accident was in Dec. In January, I provided AR Paramed with all of my insurance information. It took a couple of months after that, but they sent a bill, which I paid in April. All is good....right?
I received another invoice from them for the same amount in September (5 month later). I called to question since we had already paid them. They vowed to investigate. The next week I got a letter from a collection agency. They had turned us over to them even prior to the invoice they sent. I called the collection agency, stated we had paid them 5 months earlier, and sent a copy of the canceled check. They also said they would investigate and I should receive a zero balance statement from AR Paramed.
A few weeks went bye and I received another invoice from AR Paramed, for my daughter (10 months after the incident). She was with me, but was not injured. She road in the front seat of the ambulance. I called and stated on their message that their was no way I was going to pay them again, given the circumstances.
I finally got them to verify, at least verbally, that both accounts had zero balances. But, it was me pushing and calling several times a day. They rarely answer their phone and even more rarely do they return phone calls based on messages.
If you have the option, pick another service and save the hassle. If you don't have a choice, keep all of your records. You will need them.
