              i moved into my townhome in nov of 2022. i was never told I had a gas water heater so I never contacted summitt to get in switched on. fast forward to 15 months later and never receiving a bill at my address, I come to a disconnect notice on my door from Summitt Utilities. Amount due to turn back on is 491. I called them and advised when I moved in and they asked me to send over my lease, which i did. 1 week later i come home to 15 bills in my mailbox from them with a total of over 900 due, 75.00 is the deposit. Obviously someone was paying the bill for a few months or it would of gotten disconnected sooner, second how did the bill go from 491 to 919 if only 75.00 is the deposit. I feel like they are overcharging me on top of getting paid twice for same address is some of those months. Please help! I cant afford a 919 gas bill nor can i afford to move. Thank you

              Summits customer service is absolute trash. We received our bill and yes we should have paid when we got said bill. Sometimes things are short and sometimes bills get pushed aside. We never received a disconnect notice from summit and anytime in the past we were late we always…..ALWAYS got a shutoff notice. This time no notice and our gas shut off. Called into customer care and the person on the phone was excessively condescending and rude and when we matched her energy she stated she was trying to help in a respectful manner and would appreciate it if we would do the same! It’s sad when a company is a national company and backed by corruption and is so big they don’t have to care about the little person. Again I know we should have paid our bill. That is our responsibility and we dropped the ball. It is the companies responsibility to proper notification and they failed at that job and treated us like trash! If only there was a secondary option outside of propane.
