I had garbage service with American Waste Solutions. A check of $69 for three months of service was paid on April 27th. I moved out of the area and canceled my garbage service on July 1st. At the time of cancelation I was informed that I would be getting a refund for the month of July in the amount of $18.40. After 45 days after cancelation, I called to get a status of my refund. I was informed that they will be holding on to my refund until November. I feel like that is unprofessional and an unreasonable time frame. They should not be holding on to customer's owed funds for over 6 months. I need help from the BBB to get my refund of $18.40 returned to me in a reasonable time frame.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/08/16) */ Our apologies-- looks like the CSR gave inaccurate information. Yes, our system generates refunds 30 days after quarter close. In Ms B****'s case, 30 days after quarter of M,J,J 2021 would be end of August 2021. The CSR was seeing the newest bill charges on the account for A,S,O and was counting 30 days after that quarter cycle. Ms. B**** cancelled within the cycle prior. We apologize for the misinformation. I do not like that the company is saying that I told false information to the BBB. I wish I had recorded the phone conversation with the representative who apparently lied to me by telling me I would not receive a refund from my April payment till November. Receiving my refund in August meets my satisfaction. I will contact the BBB again with another complaint if I do not receive my refund before September 1st. We were stating our Customer Service Representative gave inaccurate information to Ms. B****. We will be submitting the refund as previously stated, prior to 9/1/21.
