    I hired Profit Wise (PW) to file 2022 taxes. Service was poor and communication dropped after my payment of $690.00 on 4/4/2023. Following a brief extension, in July 2023, I paid amounts provided to me by PW to the **** I made payments through PW for $21,466 in federal and $12,300 in VA state taxes. PW never indicated there were any additional amounts owed. In August 2023, I received a letter from the *** indicating I owed more than $40,000 in federal taxes, and would incur penalties if payment was not made. I reached out to PW and left multiple messages, which were never returned by case accountant ************************On 8/23/2023, I received an email from receptionist ************** indicating ****** would review the *** letter on 8/28. I called and emailed without response until 9/14/2022. I received an email from ****** asking if I had authorized PW to make payment (no amount referenced) when they filed my extension in April 2022. I responded I had and the federal and state payments in the amounts of $21,466 and $12,300 were made in July. I have received no further response from ******, despite many attempts to her in Oct/Nov.On 11/06/2023, I received a 2nd letter from the *** indicating I now owed $51,256.22, including penalties and interest. I kept calling PW, and one morning got through to an accountant (*******) who claimed ****** had not called me for the last few months because she had been tied up w/ business accounts. She said she would send a letter to the *** requesting removal of fees and request a new amount. I have received no further follow up from PW since.On 12/11/2023, I received a 3rd letter from the *** again seeking payment. This letter indicated I now owed $51,879.55 and said the *** could seize my property. I contacted the *** and they indicated they hadnt received any request from PW to remove fees/interest. I am making payment of the taxes owed plus interest, but request PW reimburse me for the interest and penalties associated.
