I've never been more disappointed with a company than I have this one. After being with Allstate for 46 years, I filed my 1st claim. My ** was working fine, we had a storm roll through during the night, and I lost power. The next morning I realized the ** didn't come back on. I talked to my brother in law and he told me to reach out the the insurance company as to what I should do since it sounded like a power surge. I called, and was told to have a company give me a quote on both a repair, and a new unit. I did, and then an Allstate adjustor was sent to the house. He was rude. He called the company that had given me the estimate - on speaker phone. He asked the technician that looked at the unit and given me the quote, what caused the damage. The technician answered it was either hit by lighting or a power surge. Then the Allstate adjustor asked if he was sure it wasn't from "wear and tear". The technician said, no it looked like it was due to a power surge. The following day, I was told to have another company come out. I did, this company said the same thing. Then I was told Allstate would send someone to look at it and give their opinion. I was told he wrote it up as wear and tear. Allstate denied the repair. The 2 companies I choose to come give me estimates were 4.5 and 5 star companies. The company Allstate choose to come out was a 1 star company. This all took weeks without ** to determine it would be denied. After 46 years of being a loyal Customer - it came down to ********************** getting a company to tell them what they wanted to hear. 46 years! BTW - Jalona never called to check on how things were going. If there was any communication it was only because I engaged first.I've already pulled my car insurance from them and I'm saving $100 a month with more coverage, and less deductible. Home is supposed to renew in Nov. It will most certainly be with a different company.
