The crux of my complaint with the BBB involves uncompleted work by 5 Star. I entered into an agreement with them May 26, 2021, for a complete roof replacement on 3 structures on my property. The uncompleted work includes the following: 1. Chimney Flashing. They left the old flashing around each chimney stack. They replaced the flashing everywhere else but didn't touch the stacks, leaving the original rusted flashing in place. I received a credit of $559.88 from them in lieu of fixing this issue but it will cost 3 times that for another company to complete this job. 2. Rain diverter leaks. On 10/14/2021, they extended the length of the rain diverter they installed. It is leaking at the seam. 3. Gable flashing. They installed new roofing shingles under my gables and didn't replace the flashing. As a consequence, there are sections where flashing isn't even present. This will cause eventual premature erosion and wood rot. 4. Sagging garage roof. There's a specific area on my detached garage where the new roof is sagging. Probably from insufficient decking underneath. Though I've asked many times over several weeks for someone at 5 Star to contact me about completing these simple fixes, no one has called. Even their ******* AL based manager ************* isn't responding. Additionally, the collection tactics that 5-Star has used in my case are absurd. I paid them in full on 11/9/2021. However, between their 10-Day Final Payment email notice from ***** ******** (dated 11/3/2021) and ***** *********'s letter (dated 11/4) showing where she filed a property lien on my house, I feel like I've been coerced and pressured into paying 5-Star in full even though the work above is not completed. They gave me 10 days to pay (expiring 11/14/2021) while simultaneously filing a property lien on my home? How is this even legal? Now I'd like to know when the remaining work on my roof will be completed? That's all. No one will answer that at 5 Star.
