I encountered *********************************, LPC, ********* via the advice of a collegue. I sought assistance in compiling data for a VA disability claim. We entered into a verbal agreement in Mar 22. I paid her an initial administrative fee of $700 on 18 Mar 22 for the package to submit to the VA. IAW the verbal agreement, I was to submit $700 for the initial claim and any follow-on claims. Also if there was compensation paid from the VA, I was to submit 30% of any VA deposit made. In Jul 22, the VA deferred/denied several of the areas that **************** submitted. In Jul 22, an appeal was sent for the items deferred/denied. On 12 Dec 22, after not hearing any status from ****************, I sent her an email. In this email, I requested termination of our arrangement. **************** didn't acknowledge receipt of this email until Oct 23. On 24 Jan 23, the VA approved one part of the Jul 22 appeal. At that time the VA deposited $5967.43 into my account. (30% of this amount = $1790.23). On 27 Jun 23, I emailed **************** again and received no response. After a 10+ month absence, **************** re-appeared in Sep 23. She has now asked for an exorbitant sum that isn't IAW our initial agreement. She also ignored that I asked twice to terminate our agreement. On 13 Oct 23, I remitted the amount (via certified check) that was owed to her for the Jul 22 appeal as well as the 30% from the Jan 2023 deposit. I have paid a total of $3190.23 for her services. She is now asking for $20,000 for hourly expenditures that were not part of the original agreement; stating that I owe a balance of over $17,000. She has written harrassing emails and left a voice mail. Also, without my permission, on 23 Oct 2023, she submitted another appeals claim to the VA for items that were previously denied. Due to her actions, I have had to password/PIN protect my VA account and ask for the removal of this unauthorized claim. I want this agreement terminated with zero further contact from this person/business.
