Their BOGO airfare is a scam. Although you do get a free ticket you are forced to buy 4 nights at a hotel or 7 day car rental. The money you save from the free ticket is severely diminished or gone because they charge more for the car rental than booking directly with the car rental company directly. Nothing more than a bait and switch.Review from Anthony M

I see this flight doesn't like following the new FAA LAWS about delays. every previous review is spot on only with mine I called to get my flight credited. the company was unaware of such law and only offered a 12-food voucher. The bag lady even tried to charge me 10 because I didn't pre check in on a flight delayed 5 hours. Then when I escalated literally the service rep replied back the manager refuses to talk to you. You can't even make this up. What a horrible company. I will be taking this matter to the DOT RIGHT AWAYReview from MARIO C

You offered an affordable plane ticket. I had a personal item and carry-on that I paid for but was forced at Mid America Airport in Belleville to "upgrade" to check bag at the desk. I was charged $75 for the "upgrade" despite my paying for having a carry-on. I requested that funds that I already paid for my carry-on be applied to the check bag upgrade, which the attendant said I could not do. Based on what I spent, let alone driving 30 minutes to Mid America Airport and these last-minute upgrades because my carry-on had wheels, I could have paid for a better flight with a better airline. I will not be flying Allegiant and denigrate its name if anyone were ever to entertain the thought of flying on your airline. I will suggest other airlines or perhaps another form of transportation before I would ever suggest flying Allegiant Airlines. Your company stole my money and time because of imovable standards that I have not experienced anywhere else. I also purchased a ticket for 3A exit seat. After sitting down, my knees were cramped along the airplane door that I purchased with the specific intent of having more leg room. The fly attendants were also sitting infront of me so I did get the space that I actually needed on the plane as well as spent more money to receive. You can improve by acknowledging these inconsistencies in your offers and practices by refunding my money for a terrible checking and flight experience. I will be notifying the Better Business Bureau and adding this response to any all reviews on ****** and anywhere else so that no other person has to experience what I experienced.Review from Shamelle S

This review for Allegiant Airlines is to advise how horrible the customer service was concerning our cancelled flight to Louisville, KY from Orlando, FL on flight 2974. Our family of 4 was scheduled to return home via Allegiant by 8:41pm on Sunday June 30th. Our flight was delayed multiple times until it was finally cancelled at Midnight July 1st. Per the personnel working at the desk, every customer was to receive, a refund for the airplane ticket, along with hotel accommodations for each person, and rental car for each person. The cancellation of this flight, caused us to have to book a new flight with another carrier, which came out to almost 900 dollars, the uber ride, to the main airport was 120 dollars, and the rental car from the airport in Cincinnati OH (this was the closest location we could get to our home) ended up being almost 200 dollars. This additional amount of 1200 was an unplanned expense and has placed a financial hardship on our family. We were refunded the amount for the allegiant flight but that has been it. I have been attempting to work with Allegiant to rectify this situation to no avail. We were told they would send an additional 200 dollars and that would be it. Nothing close to what was promised by the staff. I won't be booking with Allegiant for any more tripsReview from Michael V

I agree with about everything the previous review say. I was charged $91.29 for one carry-on bag, which was all I had. I thought I had purchased a bundle package for that amount which was to include other services which I did not have, nor used, only the carry-on. Plus, I am a veteran, which is stated on my driver's license. Veterans are supposedly not charged for luggage at all. Not so. Yes, I too believe these folks are out to get your money for nothing in return. Also, the customer service phone line is absolutely useless. You have to wait and wait and wait and then wait some more, for hours, not minutes.Review from Jeffery B

zero customer service and no accountability for bad employees. I had a flight lose an engine and emergency land. we got stranded in a random city for 6 hours with no help. The gate agent threatened to call cops if anyone asked her a question.Review from Bohae L

I want to expose Allegiant Air’s misconduct. On August 4th, I was scheduled to fly from Austin to Virginia on flight 1516, departing at 2:34 PM. Arriving two hours early with my two daughters and 78-year-old mother, we faced repeated delays starting around 1:40 PM. We were eventually told the plane needed to refuel in Houston. With my children’s school orientation the next day and my mother running out of medication, getting home was urgent. After over 7 hours at the airport, we were informed the flight was canceled due to weather. The weather in Austin was clear, and there were no issues at our destination. I was told the cancellation was due to Tropical Storm Debbie, though a timely departure would have avoided this. The airline’s response was unacceptable. Ground staff directed us to call the service center for rescheduling or refunds, offering only a flight on Thursday or a refund. After seven hours of waiting and frustration, I was threatened with airport security and ordered to leave, seemingly due to my being Asian. Expelled from the airport, we had to find relatives in Austin for a late-night pickup. Desperate to get home, I called the service center multiple times. After a long wait, I was offered the same options as at the airport: a flight on Sunday or a full refund. I questioned why the next available flight was so late and what about the additional costs. I refused to hang up until a representative offered a flight to Pittsburgh at 6:30 AM the next day. I accepted, rented a car, and drove 190 miles home. Allegiant Air’s lack of responsibility led to delays, confusion, and around $500 in additional costs.Review from Am O

I've flown allegiant several times and no problem. This last time we was trying to leave destin airport and flight kept getting delayed. Then finally they just said it was cancelled with no answers as to when it would be rebooked. They basically gave us a piece of paper that said call this number for travel assistance. Had over a 2hr hold to speak with someone. The vouchers and refund was ok but still we were stranded with 6 kids. Most people had option to get a rental but no cars available to accommodate all of us. Then did even offer to put us up in a hotel. I've flown with other airlines that was their fault on cancellation and they put us up in a hotel. For a family of 8 you budget for a vacation and didn't expect to have to pay for another night stay as well as getting a rental on top of that. With this experience definitely makes us not want to fly allegiant again. We had to fly into KC and then get yet another rental to make it to wichita. And on top of that one of the older kids lost their job due to this inconvenience. I know stuff happens but be more accommodating to keep people flying with you again.Review from Nate C

My experience with Allegiant was HORRIBLE. They left my bag at my departing airport IAD and I received no explanation or notification the whole weekend of my trip AS TO WHY OR HOW my luggage was held at the departing airport. I had alot of valuable items and gifts that I needed during my trip. And when I landed at my destination the baggage manager just brushed me off saying this was not their issue and that “they are just a face” and “this is a low budget airline”. This is completely unacceptable. I do not care how “low budget” an airline is. If you have the nerve to charge me for my bag to be checked and the smallest services I expect it to get to my destination. In addition, how is there no one available AT ALL during the weekends when you have flights and passengers actively traveling? The communication during my trip was PISS POOR. I will be filing a claim for reimbursement for all the items I had to PURCHASE due to not having my luggage at my destination. This was a COSTLY error in the amount of thousands of dollars for me. I will not be traveling with Allegiant ever again.Review from Jon S

No where on the Allegiant Air website when booking flights during the entire process does it reflect veterans get free checked bags. So of course I purchased the bundle package to included checked bags. Upon arriving at the airport I was informed my checked bags were free due to veteran status with proof of Identification. I was told to contact the customer service number and after waiting for over an hour on hold, I was told that because I purchased the bundle package my checked bags wouldn’t be reimbursed. The only place I found on the allegiant main website of the veteran getting free bags is under the customer service tab which you would have no reason to go under unless you’re having issues with booking or something else. For allegiant being military friendly supposedly, you would think on their main page and especially when booking it would advertise veterans get free checked bags upon verification at the airport.
