    I had my 2008 ****** Tacoma towed to ColorZone Collision on 2/1/22 following a rollover accident. On 2/2/22 I received an estimate for $6322.22 from ************************* the owner. I felt the cost was too high given the value of the vehicle. He and I worked to bring the cost down to $**** by omitting some labor and parts. Satisfied with the estimate, I authorized the work. On 5/17 he informed tabs, clips, and fasteners for the bumper and grill were needed. I asked for an estimate but never received one. After numerous failed attempts to get the status of the work, I made a trip to the shop to see ***** in person. He informed me that the vehicle was almost done and advised that I should fix the roof (something we earlier omitted to save cost) to prevent eventual rusting. he said the cost would be around $300. My math was **** + ~200 (for a brake pad, clips, and fasteners) + 300 (to fix the roof) = ~$5900 which was my ballpark expectation. On 7/1/22 I received a call from ****** that my car would be ready to go just before closing at 5. I arrived at about 4:40. The bodywork looked great. I was then told that the brakes do not work and the vehicle does not start and shown the **** which was ~$7200 (~$**** more than I expected). I decided to leave at the shop because it wasnt safe to drive and I did not agree with the final charge and wanted to discuss it with *****. We spoke 7/6 I explained that was surprised and didnt authorized the ~**** extra costs and did not want to pay that amount. He became defensive, accused me of lying, and began patronizing me. I told him that I would resort to other measures to make this right and we ended the call. On 7/6 he sent an email saying he was going to charge me $75/day storage fee and NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES. That was our last contact as of 7/8/2022

    We brought our van **** after a fender ****** with the sliding door open, which created minor damage to its front end and prevented it from closing completely. The repair for that damage and the paint job look nice. Apart from that, the full experience was incredibly disappointing. We dropped off the van on August 5th, and we were unable to pick it up until September 7th. The first couple of weeks made for an extended waiting period for parts. The owners assistant returned perhaps half the calls she said she would. After they had the van for three weeks, I went in person to ask when it was going to be ready. On that visit, the owner was non-committal, and I detected what came across as defensiveness. The assistant mentioned they hadnt done a repair like this before not reassuring! They couldnt figure out how to fix it. When the owner called later, he said they had figured it out all that they had to do was pull out the bottom of the door that had been bent in. It took them three weeks to figure that out?! Labor, at $54 per hour, doubled Im convinced that part of that charge involved my wife and me paying for them spending time scratching their heads about what the problem was. On the Yelp page, the owner said this: Receive a free estimate on your repairs! Make sure you know what you are paying for before you leave our auto shop. His statement goes on to say that a discount was available for paying out-of-pocket. Dont count on it! No discount for us. When all was said and done, the cost was over twice the amount of the initial estimate. When we picked up the van, the owner didnt walk us through the repairs that had been made. While the job itself looked good (for the most part), the owners manner of doing business leaves a LOT to be desired. We would encourage anyone thinking about using Color Zone for the repair of their vehicle to think long and hard, and then think about taking it somew**** else.
