Greetings, I was recently contacted regarding a remote job opportunity with a company called EcoSurg LLC, @ 20 Dudley St, Memphis, TN.The hiring process was extremely quick via email followed by an assessment test. I was then sent a job offer letter (as an attachment) & then asked by email that they needed additional information to set me up in their employment portal (full name, sex, full address, phone number & contact email). They emailed back saying I was set up & could now log in to confirm everything works correct on my end. I was provided with an username & password. On that email was also told that I would receive a check to purchase a required software license as part of my onboarding process. They instructed me to deposit the check into my personal bank account and that those funds were only to be used for licensing purposes. In the portal it asked for my bank information. So now I start searching to discover that there is no verifiable business registered at that address under the name “EcoSurg LLC.” Search with bbb.org and none exists. Red flag ALERT-a fraudulent scheme to steal money by providing a fake check & then obtaining access to your bank information. Hope this will help others from becoming a victim. If needed I’m happy to provide all communication between us (job offer letter, link to “their” employment portal) for investigation purposes.
