We had a cable problem so called what we thought was Xfinity. However, it was an old number for Xfinity now used by the scammer. The scammer pretended to be Comcast/Xfinity and set up an appointment with a false ticket number and then said we had to prepay our June invoice to get service. Because we were panicking because we thought our contractor had inadvertenly cut the cable line, we clicked on the link to PayPal and paid $120. I then got an email telling us they were sending a wifi booster, which I never received. so they were impersonating Xfinity and said I was paying my Xfinity account and not their wifi booster.
