Beware – Puppy Scam I had a concerning experience with Windy City Pups and sister company Premier Pups while inquiring about a $1796 puppy. The seller pushed for a $500 deposit but refused a FaceTime call or live video, claiming the puppy was still with the breeder. I asked if I could FT with the breeder and they said it took too much time away from the Breeder's care for the puppies. They provided a few photos—including one of a disclosed overbite—but would not share vet records or official paperwork, even after multiple requests. I looked up the microchip number they sent, and it couldn’t be found in any national registry. When I asked for the vet’s name or proof of health documents, communication abruptly stopped. These are major red flags. Based on my experience, I strongly suspect this operation is either a scam or linked to puppy mills. Do your homework and don’t send money without verified health info, live video, and breeder transparency.
