This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Concerning: Tax Group scam Received a phone call that led me through a fairly well set up phone tree that ended with someone claiming to be from "The Tax Group" and the office of one 'Miranda Prestley'. Obvious phishing attempt, and I got hung up on a few times asking questions Dialing extension 101 seems to lead to the general phone pool (they left it on default). The setup is pretty convincing, and will fool some people.
