This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
On February 10, I placed an order for a 5-in-1 food chopper with Preservea.com. The cost was 33.84, but my bank account shows the transaction as 42.30. The bank transaction did not list a name of a company, instead it had a slew of random letters and numbers. I should have followed my gut instinct that it was a scam, but I chose to continue forward. The product was supposedly shipped from Kilkenny, Ireland based on an initial tracking number in an email. I waited about a month to receive the product. According to that initial tracking number, it stated that my item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 12:10 pm on March 15, 2025. This was not the case as we had checked our mail that day, a Saturday. On March 19, I emailed Preservea through the only form of communication offered: [email protected]. I indicated that my package did not get delivered even though the tracking stated it had. The supposed customer service replied with a second tracking number and suggested I check with the post office. This tracking number indicated that my package was originally shipped from Shenzhen, China which is different than the first tracking number. I went ahead and spoke with my post office, but they were unable to provide any information or locate the package. I had multiple more emails communicating with perservea customer support explaining the situation and asking for a refund (multiple times). They continued to provide the response that the package was delivered and pushed to have me check with my local post office, surveillance, etc. At one point they asked me to verify my address, which in my opinion is another indicator that the company is fake and a scam. I looked up this company on the BBB to discover three other reports of a similar nature. The Preservea website only provides one email address as stated previously, does not provide any specific information regarding their whereabouts, and does not provide any section for reviews.
