I was contacted by someone offering what seemed to be a remote job opportunity. After collecting my personal information during the “onboarding” process, the scammer told me the company would cover my phone bill and asked for my wireless account login information. Without paying anything, the scammer ordered two iPhone Pro Max devices and an iPad on my account and claimed they would pay once the bill arrived. He then instructed me to ship the devices to two different addresses, supposedly so they could be “synced with the company’s system.” The addresses provided were: 1. Name: Steven A. Rau Address: 15 Beechwood Dr #2, Tiffin, OH 44883 2. REMIGHT LOGISTICS Address: 10008 Bissonnet Street, Houston, TX 77036 When I questioned the situation and asked for payment in full before sending the items, the scammer began calling me repeatedly. I followed up by email stating I would not ship anything unless the items were paid for in full. He never responded after that. This was clearly an attempt to commit fraud using my wireless account and have the items reshipped to a drop location, likely for resale or further fraud. I believe this scam may involve identity theft, account fraud, and possible speech morphing or impersonation.
