Description

A YETI cooler was advertised for cheap on Facebook. It advertises as if the cooler is for sale, and it will be sent to you for $11.42 as part of a promotion for Dick's Sporting Goods. After reviewing my bank statement, the initial charge of $14.87 was more than what it said the cooler was going to cost and then there was a second charge for $73.56. I never received an email or anything for the transaction. The company name on the bank transaction was Energy Tech Electric Supply with a number - 866-859-3830. I called the number. They claim to be company called Optimal Solutions, Inc., a third-party customer support service. I spoke with Shela Scott and Roger Venables. They claim they and the company they represent are from Orange County, CA, but could not provide an address. They said the company's name of the promotion I entered was Prize Streak Daily and their email was [email protected]. They said they could not provide a physical address or website to the company and there wasn't anyone else I could talk to. They explained the charges were for an entry into a sweepstakes and not to purchase the actual cooler. I explained this was not what was advertised, but they said there was nothing they could do because it was in the terms and conditions. I asked to get a copy of the terms and conditions and was told to go to the website. I did this on the phone and explained it did not work, and they said I was have to email. Shela said the second charge was for a subscription to healthyforyourgut.com. The second person, Roger, said the second charge was for a monthly entry into a sweepstakes to win additional prizes. Neither operator would refund my money or let me talk to a supervisor or could provide any other contact information to talk with someone else. This was dumb on my part and this is a scam.
