Description

My husband and I were looking to adopt a puppy and when I googled adopting a puppy, Cavapoo puppies came up and they were adorable. So I looked at the site and after that they contacted me. And they had Cavapoo puppies ready to go and the adoption fee was $500. I told them I only had $300 set aside. They told me that if I promised to give it a good home I could adopt the puppy for $300. They needed $200 upfront for the adoption forms with the Continental Kennel Club. First we tried PayPal and they said it looked like a scam and would not transfer the money. Then they wanted an Apple or Visa Gold card. This is the PayPal address they gave me. [email protected] Then they showed me puppies and I proceeded to pick out a little girl puppy. Then all of a sudden they wanted another $100 to go to the Vet for their final shots and would be ok to go. So I obtained another Apple card for $100. Then all of a sudden, this person's husband said they needed more money and now it was going to be $400 total for the dog because the vet bills were higher than they thought. We went back and forth but they needed another $100 so they could travel from Albany to Herkimer when we were going to meet them so they didn't have to come to Rome. I did ask if all the people had to pay up front and they sent me the picture of an Apple card from a Facebook lady named Toy Burns Bartley who already paid with an Apple card $400 and they were delivering her a puppy named Layla on Tuesday in Troy. We told them that we would drive to Albany and pick up the puppy and give them the remaining $100 at that time. They objected so we got another $100 Apple card. All the Red Flags were there but we kept ignoring them. After we sent the card to them and were on our way to Herkimer, the Cavapoo site said that this person was no longer available. So then I tried to open the Profile of their site on Messenger and find them on Facebook and they no longer existed and it was unavailable. We lost $400.
