Description

I received a voice mail from from a phone number listed as 269-218-0425 and someone claiming to work for Vital Processing Services that stated "Hi, this message is for "My Name" and this is Gretchen Banks from Vital Processing Services. We have received a formal complaint against you and we are adding additional fees, we want to provide you with the opportunity to address the matter before the attorneys move forward with this complaint. Again my name is Gretchen Banks I with Vital Processing Services, I can be reached at 470-788-0548." When I called back Gretchen stated that the complaint was a breach of contract related to an old debt of $6255.00 that originated from Household Bank and includes late fees included. I asked when the "complaint" originated and she stated it was a contract from 2011. I stated that I did not have an account with that bank, and she stated that Household Bank is just a wholesale bank that could be "related to a credit line with groups like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Best Buy, places like that". She explained that her compony would like to work with me before they took me to court and explained that I could pay $2450 to settle this matter. I asked is she could not provide proof the the debt and why I had not received any initial correspondence on the matter? No proof could be provided. However, when I asked this line of questioning she indicated she could send it to an email that I do not recognize and never belonged to me, that she said was an email they "had on file". She further threatened that the attorneys would seek to garnish my wages. Overall this caller looked to have more information and was seeking additional information about my history, however the only information this call had that was currently accurate was my phone number and name. A former address they "had on file" was also inaccurate, same as the email address they claimed.
